Valentine's Day

I got up early (before 7:00) to finish my work, but also to stash Carrie's V-day gifts around the apartment. I had the card and a vase of flowers on her bedside table, balloons when she walked into the kitchen, cookies on the counter, two little heart-shaped cakes in the fridge, a box of chocolates hanging from the doorway to the dining room, another vase of flowers on the dining room table, a wrapped box of candies on the living room floor, and yet another vase of flowers on the coffee table. I also found some neat-o retro valentines, which I atteched to everything.

After setting everythign up I went and dropped off my tapes. Then I came home and crawled back into bed. Carrie wanted to make me breakfast in bed, so she went out and discovered all my gifts. Fun! Besides breakfast, Carrie also got me some chocolates, some little Three Musketeers, a bottle of Rasberry wine, and a glass with Grimmace on it. Neat!

Carrie went to hang out with Viki and Lisa (not together) for the early afternoon, so I worked on my day's tapes while she was gone (after getting in a few healthy rounds of Super Smash Bros, that is). She came home and we went together to get my rushes. Geoff ended up driving behind us around Stadium. Don't know where he was going, but it was funny. Then back to work for me as she ordered many, many beads (over $1,000 worth).

We went to dinnter at Il Fiasco, which is a very classy joint up the block from The Bead Factory on 6th Ave. She had Tomato Ravioli, and I had Pollo Gorgonzola with an amazing sauce with mushrooms and olives in it. Il Fiasco is big on its wines, so we had a nice $22 bottle of tasty red wine with dinner, and I got just a little sauced.

We got home a little before Rasslin',.. Afterwards, Carrie had to go take problem child Travis Medak to the airport.

I took tapes in, hung out with Rocky briefly. On the way home I bought balloons and some cookies for Carrie for V-day, but I had to park around the corner and keep it all in the car, because she was still home.

I took Fantasticto to get stitches out and a shot for a tapeworm she'd developed. Fun! She was pretty well behaved, just kind of quietly scared. When i got home I had to wash out her litter box and give her a flea bath.

In the afternoon I drove around and bought more stuff for Carrie. Old-timey space valentines at Watermark, candy at Ever After. I talked to Ever After nice lady about doing the logo, and she gave me a couple of ideas of what she wanted. I am to have rough, rough prototypes by Friday.

Carrie had her meeting with the Jewelry rep, and she signed a contract and everything, so now Carrie is a real big-time player in the world of Jewelry design! Exciting, but plenty scary. She has to put up a lot of money to buy supplies up-front. Actually, I have to put it up, because she doesn't have it.

In the evening Carrie went to hang out at the Parkway. I took the time to go buy flowers and get all my V-day stuff ready (and design and print out my car for her). Then i was just about to drive over there and join her, but as i was unlocking the car she drove up. She left in a fit because Travis was being a jerk-ass (what a shock) and was making the evening not fun for everybody. So Carrie was all upset. She was also upset that she had left too much money, so she called Christine and had her get change.

I got some discipline and actually got up early (although a half-hour later than i wanted to). I hung out with Rocky, and the phone kept rining, so I answered it. It was Carrie's dad trying to check the messages. It was very funny.

Carrie brought home Jack In the Box for lunch, which was a nice surprise. She had a split-shift. I kept trying to call the vet to get Fantastico an appointment to remove the stitches, but they were always busy. I finally got through. Tomorrow at 11:00!

I got my regular work all done by 4:15 (thanks to discipline!). I had a couple of rushes. Watched Buffy (trapped in her house Birthday Party episode).

I dropped off my tapes and then continued north to Carrie's folks' to feed Rocky. I came home and talked w/my mom, and it turns out that the ImprovNorthwest meeting yesterday sucked. I knew it! I'm glad I didn't go.

Around lunchtime on the news there was a report of a woman shot dead. The "live at the scene" footage showed a particular building. I looked out the window, and sure enough, there was that building, a couple of blocks away. Fun!

I got my work done really early (by 4:00). Carrie came home starving, so we went to the Parkway for burgers. Afterwards we went and hung out with Rocky (and brought laundry). Carrie wanted to take him home with us, but eventually decided against it.

We were gonna drop my tapes of at Surgard, but we forgot, so I had to drive out there after we got home. Some moron tailgated me half the way home, so I drove exactly two miles per hour over the speed limit.

I didn't go to Fools Play practice because there was just a meeting of ImprovNorthwest, which I didn't particularly enjoy last time, so I opted not to go this time. Instead I did my work, which I had a lot of. Watched wrestling, did more work, etc. I also printed out the stuff for Carrie, as the blue in my printer was back. Was done by 11:45 p.m.

Carrie's folks are going out of town, so I have to watch their cat, Rocky, for the next few days.

I slept in again (but only until 10:00 or so). I did some dishes and seriously cleaned the floor in the living room. Geoff had me burn a copy of Chubby Mummy: Comin' At Ya! for him. Carrie had to go in to work seriously early (7:15), so she got off early. We spent the afternoon walking around Proctor district in a lovely witner sunny day. We had lunch at Queen Anne Thriftway (I had a ham and brie sandwich. Yum!)

Fools Play was pretty lame. Ed and Tanner weren't there, and there were only like ten people in the audience, so we didn't really try very hard. I just came straight home afterwards.

Slept in until 11:15! Carrie Splitshift. Went to bank/post office with her. Bead factory shoplifting story. I was supposed to print out buscards for Carrie, but the blue didn't work. Instead I made her mum's. Brooks and i went to see Gosford Park. Rachel met us there. Was fun hanging out w/Brooks.

I had a butt-load of tapes today. Way, way too many. I stupidly worked on my design page instead of constantly working on my tapes.
Brooks called, which was cool, but it kept me from my work.

Nothing much at all. Carrie had a split-shift. I got my werk done pretty early, watched Rasslin' with Gary. After everything I worked on designs for the Ever After logo. I'll take that in when I have time and show it to nice lady.

Fools Play Practice was at PLU in an empty room. We solidified a whole bunch of half-assed ideas, which was pretty fun, although i was plenny tired.

Just did my work and watched Rasslin' and Malcolm in the evening. Carrie made pasta for dinner. Yum!

I wasn't feeling very creative today. I tried to write a song but just got some interesting, disperate ideas. Also tried to write more in the novel, but I didn't have enough time to work up momentum. I washed dishes instead.

Carrie went to the twins' roller skating party. I declined.

Fools Play was Exhibition, Geoff hosting. Jesus: King of the Juice did an hilarious promo. Afterwards we all went to Brandy's for her monthly shin-dig.

I got Fantastico spayed, which wasn't a fun experience for her. When i picked her up she was all drunk from being drugged. Her back end wasn't in sync with her front.

We took Julian shopping for his birthday at Toys 'R' Us. He chose some Battle Botz type robots, which I hope he'll actually like playing with.

Fools Play had a gig up in West Seattle at ArtsWest. It was weird performing on an actual stage again. Like Mike said, it almost felt like a step backwards in a wierd way. Joel Dale was there, though, which was pretty cool.
