Our downstairs neighbor, who is an excellent professional chef, decided to try something new and ended up burning the holy Hell out of it, filling the entire apartment building with fun smoke... two nights in a row! Does it still smell in here?

Our pal Melissa had her 2nd annual Fourth of July BBQ at her house. Last year about five other people came. This year there were probably upwards of fifteen to twenty at any given time.

It was Carrie's dad's birthday on the 7th, and to celebrate we all went to Emerald Downs to bet on the horsies! I had never done that before. It was actually suprisingly fun, although I'm not at all certain whether I made money or lost. But they had the standup Moon Patrol in a little side room, and I got to Zone M!! We also got two free, collapsable beach/lawn chairs out of the deal, so I ain't complaining.

We finally got ourselves that thing called Cable Internet here at the apartment, which is so sweet because now I can upload the Fools Play website in just a few seconds instead of over four minutes per pop. Nice.

It was my brother's birthday on the 12th, and Carrie and I went in together and got him an on-sale DVD player, which surprised him quite a bit.

For some reason my workload was crazy this last week, and looks to be pretty bad again this week. But it also looks like I will be designing the website for Improsia, the improv group that split from Fools Play a few years ago. So watch for that!

One of our good friends and Carrie's fellow employee at The Bead Factory left for California recently, which kind of sucks, but it gives us an excuse to take road trips down there. So I guess it's not all bad.

Carrie Hamm Designs recently got an order from the Tacoma General Hospital Atrium Gift Shop. Here's the thing: we can see Tacoma General hospital out our window. It's like three blocks away. But I had to drive seven-and-a-half miles to drop off the jewelry at the nearest UPS station so they could drive it right back to my backyard, basically. Funny.

You know, just when I was getting over my monkey-sickness (read the archives), I developed the full-blown flu! Yee-haw! It put me out of commission for four full days. Symptoms included aches, chills, diahreah, nausea (although I only threw up once), and feverish hallucinations! Let me tell you, you haven't lived until you hallucinate like I do. You see, I don't hallucinate visually. I hallucinate mathematically. I am such a nerd. This one was about division, and for some reason was absolutely terrifying. Once I had an hallucination that I discovered the "Universal Equation"—and mapped it in four dimensions! Jeez...

Carrie's parents' cat died and we took Fantastico over to their house a couple days later. Apparently the ghost was still around, because Fantastico was totally freaked out and cowering in corners and stuff like that. She's still a little weird.

I went to three graduation parties recently, two of them in one weekend—both for the same person! See, she had a party at her dad's house on Saturday and at her mom's house on Sunday. And who says divorce is bad for kids? She gets two parties for every one event!

The new guy, Nathan, debuted at Fools Play and held his own very well. As soon as he gets an appropriately-colored shirt he will become the Orange Fool. This also means I'll have to do a lot of updating of Fools Play Island.

Carrie and I and a couple of our friends went to Ocean Shores overnight on the 27th for some Pacific Ocean hyjinx! I'm writing an Article about it, so I won't say any more here.
