Saturday
I went out and bought paint like I should have (see the Dec 06 entry) and painted the entryway a bright golden yellow color. Well, most of it. I didn't do the corners and around the trim. I also washed some dishes. Brandy stopped by around 3:00 to work on her leftovers from her appreciation dinner on Friday. She was really upset about the robbery on Friday night, and so was I. I felt kinda useless, like there was something more important I could have been doing instead of paining and washing plates and forks. At Fools Play there wasn't a very big audience, and they were all basically regulars (or at least recurrers), so we went kinda CGNU. I had a lot of fun, especially in a scene where I got to play Kool-Aid Man, and another one where I ran a car lot and had dug a pit with a tiny Christmas tree and some fake snow that I had order a worker to make "smaller and faker."
After the show me, my brother, Rachel, Taisha, and David Rodriguez (yay!) went to this really cool restaurant in Olympia called "Plenty." They have good and unusual food. For example, I had a quesadilla full of pepper jack cheese, tomatoes, and smoked salmon. Tasty fish. Rachel had eggs benedict with smoked salmon instead of ham. David Rodriguez had calamari with a coconut breading, so it was kinda like coconut shrimp except with calamari instead of shrimp. Also very tasty (sweet because of the coconut). Taisha had a turkey burger type deal thingy. I didn't taste it because it had avocado in it, and avocado is against the religion that my allergies practice. Anyway, it was a really neat restaurant (except service was slow, but it was 11:00 at night), and I want to take Carrie there sometime.
When I got home it was very funny, because Cat was over and she and Carrie had had some Heinekins. When I walked in the door Cat turned to me and threw open her arms. "Honey!" she exclaimed as she gave me a big hug. "I'm so glad you're home! How was your day?" Carrie had almost completely cleaned out the living room. It looks really good in there now, except for some residual beading stuff and an unclean coffee table.
Sunday
Sunday Carrie & I both got up later than we wanted, although still very early in her case. I was like an hour behind all day. Around 1:00 I stopped by the store to hang out. Brandy was feeling kinda oogy, so I went and bought her a coffee at Starbuck's. I also brought back a coffee for Nicole and a chai for Steph. Aren't I, like, the best person ever? Right when I got back Brandy got off for her lunch break, but I couldn't have lunch with her (dammit) 'cause I was on my way to Gig Harbor. At TideFest Carrie had spotted a mirror she really liked for the entryway. It cost a lot, lot of money, though, so I thought I should probably see it before she spent a lot of money on something that I hated. I had tried calling her (twice) earlier in the day to get directions, but she didn't have her phone on her/on, so I looked up Gig Harbor High School's address online and then MapQuest led me there. Carrie was right, though, it was a really pretty mirror. There was actually one I liked a little bit more, but it was much more expensive even.
I got to practice an hour and a half late, to which I say, "oh, well." After practice I swung by Fife, and then when I got home Carrie wanted to go to The Rosewood Cafe for dinner. But then we realized that it was closed on Sunday, so we couldn't really do that. We went to the Parkway Tavern instead. It'd been a long time since we'd been there, so that was nice.
Afterwards I had a couple of tapes to do, and then I was really feeling zonked and I had eaten my club sandwich a mite too fast, so my belly was kind of ticked. I sort of dozed on the loveseat in the office while Carrie dinked around with email and such, and watched the Fools Play Christmas cartoon I made last year. Then we did some extra bills and went to bed before 10:00 at night. What old people we are!
