I forgot to mention about the late Valentine's Day that Carrie and I had. Since Carrie was in Tucson on Valentines day and I spent it with Jack Burton, Egg Shen, and David Lo Pan, we actually went out a week or two later for a late Valentine's dinner. We went to Cafe Europa, which is kind of like an Iron Chef style of cuisine. I had some pork, and carrie had a New York Steak with caramelized onions and basalmic vineager. It was sweet.

Anyway. During the weekend I got the second floor of the apartment building all to myslef. Carrie had to fly to Kansas due to a family emergency (left Friday, came back Tuesday), and Neighbor Gary went over towards the Olympics to record an album with his band. A full, hour-long album. It's good (from the two songs I've heard) instrumental stuff. A lot of it kind of sounds like video game end credits music. It has that kind of dreamy, concluding feel to it. Nice and trippy. While he was gone I was taking care of his cat Zaphod. I also beat one of his video games (expect a video game review in the Articles section).

Carrie had to leave with basically no notice, so she had me trim her hair right before she left. She left pretty late at night, and I was pretty tired, so I went to bed thinking that I'd sweep the hair off the hardwood floor in the morning. Well, I get up and walk into the living room to find Fantastico rolling around in the pile of hair, spreading it out into a thin layer that covered the entire living room floor. It took me a broom and two Swiffers to clean all that up. I know Fantastico missed Carrie ("This is all I have left of her!"), but come on!

Then when I went to go pick up Carrie and her dad from the airport, I got on the freeway. There was a station wagon in front of me with a mattress tied to its top (you can see where this is going). Anyway, we're driving along, and I check my blind spot to see if I can get over or not. And when I look back in front of me I remember thinking, "Hmm, that mattress looks different now." Sure enough, as soon as I thought that it snapped it's bonds and lifted up into the air like a big square kite before tumbling to the left and hitting the freeway in the lane just next to mine. And it wasn't just any mattress; it was one of those wood-frame box spring mattresses, so when it hit it made this gigantic CRACK!! sound.

On Wednesday I went to an accountant for the first time ever. I only have to pay a few hundred bucks of taxes! That means I get to keep about 2,000 dollars of my "tax jar!" Carrie and I are gonna buy a car with that money, I tell you what. I also might get a new corner desk from Ikea and a flat panel monitor (all of which is tax deductible). But if I get a flat panel, how would Fantastico help me work?

Friday the 14th Fools Play went and did a show up at ArtsWest. It was a'ight, I guess. Only about 20 people showed up, and they were a lot quieter than our usual rowdy audience, so it didn't really seem worth the trouble. Brandy was there, though (surprise), so that was nice.
Here's the dumbest thing I've heard in my job in a long time. The interviewer ("Q") was asking the interviewee ("A") about the road where the accident occurred, like what it was called, how many lanes it had, what direction she was traveling, etc. And then this happened:

Q:   What was the speed limit there?

A:   What, you mean on the road?

No, dumbass. Your personal speed limit. What the gnarb?

I was happily playing my new copy of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Master Quest one Thursday evening when I got a call from Chuck of Diamond Internet saying that Microsoft was going to be starting up with their testing again... that Monday. Three days away. Needless to say my transcriptioning boss wasn't too happy about the short notice (and neither was I), so I had to do a buttload of extra work over the weekend to placate her.

Here I was getting ready to ramp up my movie watching and Article writing, and now I gotta go to Microsoft.

Microsoft was as fun as ever, althought this time we were divided into two different rooms, so it was me and Eric Manley in one room, and my brother with Jodi in the other. The people we were testing for were having a dickens of a time getting onto the Microsoft network, so they couldn't actually see all the bugs that we were logging for them. If I were a geek I'd be going LOL right now.

On Thursday, the last Microsoft day, Carrie and I both were surprisingly unsleepy and stayed up 'til well after 3:00 a.m. We thought we might just stay up and go out for breakfast at The Hobbnob, but we both ended up falling asleep, so we woke up in time to go out to lunch there instead. We were supposed to get some cleaning done and then do bills (what with it being the last day of the month), but Carrie was called in to work at Ever After, so she couldn't really clean at all, and then we couldn't find half of our bills. So we paid what we could find and figured we might have accidentally thrown out the rest somehow. Oh, well, they'll send us more.

However, as an added bonus, on our way to the store to get some stuff for meat sauce (spaghetti for dinner), we ran into them Girl Scounts and their cookies. $57 dollars later, we were set for months. Our freezer is jam-packed with them de-licious cookies!
