May is my birthday month, and as such it is (as Strong Bad would say) "crazy-go-nuts." More things tend to happen to and around me in the month of may than any other month:

On Friday the 2nd Carrie and I did something unusual: we hung out together like all day. We had a late breakfast at Mitzel's, we went shopping for my mom's birthday (and as always for clothes for Carrie), we picked up some groceries, and we went driving around the nice neighborhoods up here looking at houses. Not that we're gonna buy one anytime soon, but just to see what they're like. We went to the cute winery shop place thing that's a couple doors down from The Bead Factory and bought a buttload of wine. He let us taste all the wines before we decided, so we were a little tipsy. Then we came home and made mushrooms stuffed with sausage for dinner and had some of that wine. Later we went out to the Clocktower with Viki, Melissa, and Geoff. So it was a nice, fun day.

Saturday the 3rd I went and did Fools Play up in Seattle as part of our "Fools Play Presents" series, where two of the fools (purple and green in this case) host a show where we invite improvisors from other local troups to perform with us. In this case it was two guys and a girl from The Temps and a couple of guys whose troupe name I've forgotten. Oh, well, it was an okay show, and at one point in the show I buried my face in a (real) bowl of pretzels and, as Ed (in the audience) described, "It Exploded."

Sunday the 4th, being kind of in between my birthday and my mom's birthday, the family went out to a late lunch at Claim Jumpers to celebrate. If you've never been to one of those restaurants, it's quite an experience. The whole premise of the restaurant is they give you more food than it's physically possible to eat. After that we went and had kind of a low-key present opening for both of us. My mom got a buttload of quilting stuff. I got a few things, too. Carrie came by after work and we all watched Big Trouble in Little China, the special collector's edition, which is one of the DVDs I got (You should check out My Two-Year DVD Anniversary Quiz).

The next day, Monday, Christine came back from California! Hooray! She's here for at least about a month, maybe longer depending on which grad school she gets into. She took me out to lunch at Rock Pasta to celebrate. Mmm... Later that day Carrie and I got pizza to mark the official end of the "noble experiment" of no dairy consumption. She figured out she wasn't allergic to dairy; she's allergic to Fantastico, which is much worse.

Tuesday the 6th was my actual birthday. I got a phone call from Brandy, which was nice. After I finished up my work (mostly) and Carrie got home, we went to Costco, where Carrie bought me
Spirited Away
. I also bought myself
Kiki's Delivery Service
. Then she took me to the Mekong Cafe, which is a charming little restaurant that has great food but unfortunately pretty lousy service. They're nice and everything, but after they bring you your food they never check on you. Anyway, after that it was home to watch the third-to-the-last episode of Buffy. Then me, Carrie, Neighbor Gary, Melissa, Travis, Christine, Marcus (and later co-birthday boy Geoff) went to the Parkway and had a rousing and carousing good time. Nice birthday. Nothing too spectacular (I figure I'm saving that for my big bash of a party).

One of the poster frames I got from my grandma for my b-day turned out to have a crack in it, so I took it back to Suncoast to exchange it for another one and the girl behind the counter was actually super nice about it. Weird. I put
The Adventures of Baron Munchausen
poster in the new, unbroken frame.

While I was doing that I stopped by Wal-Mart because my brother told me that they were selling the Miyazaki DVDs for as cheap as they were at Costco. So I picked up
Castle in the Sky
. I would like to say I came home, watched it, and wrote a Movie Review of it, but truth be told I fell asleep halfway through my first viewing. Hey, I was tired! What I saw of it looked pretty good. Wal-Mart also had two giant boxes of $5.99 DVDs, so I actually went back the next day and grabbed
Superman Vs Monsters & Villians
and
Superman Vs. Nature & War
(the latter being famous for having two horribly racist cartoons in it: "Jungle Drums" and "Japoteurs") as a two-pack, so I got them for $3 Each. I aslo snagged Ronin for me and
Drive Me Crazy
for Carrie.

Sunday was Mother's Day. Viki just got back last week from India with a whole bunch of new precious and semi-precious stones, so I bought my mom a whole slew of pretty ones with which she could make something pretty. Instead of going out to dinner or anything, my mom actually cooked. She made old-fashioned baked macaroni and cheese with bread crumb topping. Normally I don't like baked macaroni (I prefer mine stovetop made), but this one wasn't baked too much so there wasn't that hard crust that I don't like. Nice and mushy, and the bread crumbs were full of flavor taste. However, I caught like a tiny little nasty head cold. Not, I presume, due to the macaroni.

We learned that our good friend Christine, who came up from California at the beginning of the month and was originally only gonna stay a month or so, might actually be staying for much, much longer. This is good news as far as I'm concerned!

Wednesday the 14th Carrie flew off to Miami to preside over a bead show there. Ca-razy. She'll be gone until Monday, leaving me all alone and lonely until then.

That's about it. This is only the first half of the month! In the meantime be sure to keep checking out ANGRY BEEF, and it never hurts to buy something.

Major apologies to everybody that I've been flaking like crazy-go-nuts on updating this website. I swear I have some great Articles lined up and stuff like that. But I've been very busy.

I bought a freakin' car. I bought a freakin' car.

And it's a real car, too. Like a grown-up car. It's a 2001 Toyota Corolla (silver). It has power steering, windows (not seats). It even has a freakin' CD player. Yikes! I bought it while Neighbor Gary was in Santa Cruz visiting Natalie.

Speaking of Gary and Santa Cruz, there was some fun confusion when I picked him up at the airport on Easter due to the fact that we had completely forgotten to make any plans whatsoever as to how that was supposed to happen. Airport confusion.

Anyway, I went to my folks' place for Easter and Carrie went to hers. We had quiche. Not just any quiche. Easter Quiche. After dinner we played with ballons. You heard me.

Anyway, other than that I've just been pretty busy working on some websites. The Puget Sound Bead Festival website had it's class signup portion golive on the 25th. I've been working on putting more products on The Bead Factory website. I also completely revamped the CGH Design website. It's all good, baby!

Also be sure to visit ANGRY BEEF and enjoy the many dozens of pics I have up there now. It also wouldn't hurt to buy something (I've even redesigned the backs of the T-shirts). Also, let's everyone support sixty-six kilohertz records as it is just getting off the ground. Also, it's my birthday next week, so let's all support me by getting me a whole crapload of good stuff.
