Something is either screwy with my server or with my computer's cacheing ability. I keep on getting old pages here and on ANGRYBEEF.com instead of the most recent versions.

In other news, still moving.

Sorry about sporadic lack of updates. I'm busy moving and painting. Oh, so much painting. I'll get back in the swing of this once we're all moved into the house.

Optimus Primed

Yesterday (Saturday) I had my first experience with painting the interior of a house.

Didn't like it very much.

We primed the living/dining room of our new house a brilliant white so that today we may paint it a color called "swamp fog." Cat came and helped, and then eventually I had to leave for Fools Play: Haunted House. It was a good show but I kept getting interrupted and walked over and ignored, so I didn't have a very good time.

Coffee & Donuts & a Michinoku Driver

Yesterday (Thursday) was the big push to get the new Bead Factory up and running and in all good working order. Quite the jorb! In the midafternoon Carrie called me out for a coffee run.

I took a pad & pen and wrote down what everybody wanted from Starbucks, with the idea being that I would walk up there (it being two blocks away) and pick it all up, then bring it back. The results were enthusiastic when I asked people if I could bring them anything from Starbucks ("I'll love you forever" as Brandy said). Well, around the 11th drink order I realized, "Geez, am I gwine be able t'carry all dis?"

The answer: No.

So Carrie had to come with. We drove instead of walked because it was imperative that Carrie be away from the store for as little time as possible. When we got back the only parking place open was a handicap place, so I pulled in with the intention of running the coffee in and then pulling right out. However, as soon as I stepped out of the car a REAL handicapped person appeared in a van, so I had to put the coffee down on the ground and skeedadle out of there, leaving Carrie to lug it all inside.

Later that evening I made myself some cheddar potato soup and settled down to watch Smackdown! on UPN. I totally marked out when one of the Bashams used the Michinoku Driver. If I were ever a wrestler, I'd somehow get a hold of Taka Michinoku and ask permission to use the Michinoku Driver as my finisher. I don't know why—it's not a very spectacular move (just a sit-down scoop slam). I just love it do deeeth. I marked out for it more than the return of Paul Heyman or the return of Rikishi/Scotty or Undertaker defeating Brock and Show four times in a row. Rhyming is fun!

After Smackdown! was over and Carrie still wasn't home, I called her up and she told me they still had many fremen warriors, I mean hours left to go. I wondered if I could do anything for them, and she suggested maybe bringing donuts? Nuts made out of dough?

Well, I did some updating on the website, then drove out towards Tacoma Mall and the open-all-night Krispy Kreme there. Two dozen donuts and 12 bucks later I was on my way back to The Bead Factory with a donut in my mouth. Everyone was getty pretty punchy, which isn't surprising seeing as how it was like 11:30 at night by this time and most of them had been there since 9:30 or so in the morning.

I dinked around on this here internet for a while after I dropped of the donuts, then eventually went to bed during Conan. Carrie didn't come home until almost 1:30 or something crazy like that. But this morning is the Grand Opening of the New Store Location, so it had to be done.

Pretty, eh?

When I was going to Fife for tapes I thought the clouds were kinda pretty and I just happened to have my digital camera with me.

Pretty, eh?

Christian urban legends

Wha hoppen? I read many a fascinating article about Christian urban legends. Ca-razy!

When I left to go do that whole tape/new house circle (with a stop off at the post office to mail the car payment on time) I took Carrie's cell phone with me in case she needed to get a hold of me. I forgot, however, to turn it on. Meanwhile at The Bead Factory they needed a temporary phone to which they could forward all their calls. Carrie volunteered her cell phone, came home to get it only to find it not there. Oops! So when I got home there was a note on the table, and I swung by the store and stuck my hand out the window and passed the phone to her as I drove by.

I did a lot of work on The Bead Factory's online wholesale section, so that should be up and ready to go on Monday. The crazy kids at the store were busy moving everything to the new store location. They're going to finish that up today and the store will be open for business tomorrow (Friday)!

After work we went to The Rosewood for dinner, then I dropped Carrie off at The Parkway to meet with Christine & Dillon (who we both really like), while I went home to do more dishes and watch a new episode of Angel. It's funny how that now that Spike is on that show it's actually interesting. Hmmm...

Then after that I went to the Parkway myself and met up with all the crazy kids for a few minutes. Then I took Carrie home and put her to bed. After meeting a never-ending string of demands for me to bring her stuff. Whew! Cheese, milk, root beer, peanut butter toast, etc., etc. She's pretty funny when she's kinda stressed out.

"You build stronger walls than I ever could"

I'm watching No Holds Barred right now. So I can't type for long. Gotta watch. Gotta watch. He just beat up the mugger in the diner. Now he has to share one room with the hot chick! Whoa!

Yesterday (Tuesday) I had to dig a whole bunch of boxes out of the closet to find the one that has my important reciepts in it so I could take it down to the computer place. However, soon after I did that I noticed that Carrie had left out a part of Raichu that I had forgotten to replace the last time I put him back together. So I thought, "Well, I'd better put that back before I forget."

So I took Raichu apart, and in doing so found something very interesting.

Ooh! The hot chick just came outta the bathroom in sexay undies!

After cross-referencing with the internet, I discovered that what I had discovered in Raichu was the key to fixing my other 'puter! I am a freakin' genius.

Anyway, now Hulk and the hot chick are sharing a bed, but Hogan strung up like a sheet or curtain or something down the middle of it so they're on their own sides. Ain't that so romantic? Well, the music seems to think so! Now there's wacky breathing going on... for chrissake, it's Hogan doing NAKED PUSHUPS!!! WHY GOD WHY!?

I got a cool drawing from comic book artist Todd Webb yesterday in the mail of a robot looking through a fridge. He also sent a cute little mini-comic. He seems like a really cool guy. I might make an ANGRY BEEF sighting with him in it sometime soon. He'd probably get a kick out of it.

Hogan and the hot chick just had a fight 'cause she's too cold. Ha-ha! That was a funny line coming out of Hogan's mouth. I'm making it the title of this entry.

Carrie wuz guine come home for lunch but there was way, way too much stuff goin' on. So I brought lunch (leftover salmon) to her. When I got home there was a huge pile of empty boxes on the front porch with a note from Cat! She'd brought them from the pharmacy because she is the coolest person ever.

Oh! The hot chick just got chewed out by the badguy, and now she's crying in Hulk's arms. When are they gonna kiss!? The sustense is keeeling mee!

I also brought dinner to Carrie. I cooked many American Hamburgers! When she finally came home we packed up the bedroom. Well, she pointed while laying on the bed, and I packed.

There they go! Hooray for kissing Hogan! Uh-oh, Zeuss is on the TV... I gotta go! This is too exciting!

Why, hello there, kitty

Yesterday I made a really kickass poster design for Fools Play in which I made all five of us into Hello Kitty style characters. We are so freakin' cute. The scariest one is Ed, though, because it REALLY looks like him. I mean REALLY.

I did a lot of dishes as well. I'm really not making hardly any money this month, which is not a good thing when you're moving into a new house.

I made Yoshida Sauce Salmon for dinner. Tasty fish.

Gary came over for rasslin' in the evening.

So goddam exciting

I forgot to do this again yesterday, and now I don't really rememeber what happened on Saturday. Other than Fools Play (Cursed). When I got cursed I had to go out the front and then climb in the window in the back. Well, the window in the back is like five feet off the ground and therefore a bit more difficult to climb through than expected. I had to step over from a not-so-nearby railing. Stretch of the imagination!

Nathe and Joel Larson were at the show, though, which were pretty coo'.

Anyway, yesterday (Sunday) Carrie & I packed and packed and packed. And packed. Then I went to practice and Carrie hung out with Cat and got more boxes. Then we came back and she packed and I did dishes. I also swung by the new Bead Factory location and saw that everybody was inside, so I stopped in and they showed me around. Spiffy! I also bought laundry detergent, root beer, and spaghettis sauce at Fred Meyer's. My life is so goddam exciting.

Terminal Velocity

I feel like I did a lot yesterday... while at the same time nothing happened. Let's see if'n I can umember. I didn't really have any work to do, 'cause of it being my day off 'n' all. I know I drove up to Fife to see if there were any tapes up there (no). For some reason nobody was in the office, and there was a note on the front door saying it was broken and Hometech people would have to go around to the backdoor. Another transcriptionist lady was there at the same time, so we had to hunt for the backdoor (which I kind of knew the location of on account o' being there before). On the way back I stopped at Fred Meyer's for various supplies (butter, bread, a couple other thangs), then swung by the house to pick up das mail.

We got a hold of Carol to talk about moving in and painting. We're gonna paint the living room on the 25th/26th, but we're not actually going to be able to move in unitl like the evening of the 30th, so we're gonna move as much as possible on that day and then clean the crap outta this place on Halloween before Carrie has to go away to somewhere. Portland? She would be driving to Portland. Yeah, I think that's right but I can never remember.

Carrie had a class in the evening and I wasn't feeling very productive, so I just kinda lazed around and discovered a new favorite show: MythBusters on Discovery. This episode they built a penny gun and discovered what a penny's terminal velocity is to see if you dropped one off a skyscraper if it could kill somebody. The answer is no. Not enough mass. Terminal velocity for a person is 120 mph, though, which is a figure I've always wanted to know! Hoo-rah!

After class Carrie & I met Christine and Dillon at the Parkway. Funtimes and cider for all.

Back in business, baby !

Yesterday (Thursday) I drove the flat-tired Ford up to a MasterCare place so they could put that stuff in the tire that seals it from the inside. First of all, though, Carrie and I drove down to a gas station to pump up the jams so that it could actually get to the tire place. Carrie had the day off but was gone most of the day anyway to take her mama for a doctor visit with my own personal gut doctor, Dr. Fogel. Weird.

Anyway, while my tire was gettin' gooped I walked over to Gottschalk's or however the funk you spell it and wandered around for about a half hour, 15 of which was spent using their immaculate bathrooms. Man, if I were a bum I'd use those bathrooms all the time. I ain't never seen bathrooms that clean or unused before.

When I finally got home with a fully-repaired tire Carrie was already there. I went to go pick up my non-existant rushes and then swung by Ever After to measure the sign that I'm creating for them so I could make sure it would actually fit and everything (kinda important I hear). Karla talked to me about Photoshopping a picture for her, and possibly creating labels for a new line of candles for next Christmas. That's kinda exciting!

I picked up some Burger Bar teriyaki on the last leg home, and when I walked in the door Carrie told me that the computer place had just called and had fixed my laptop for a grand total of $81. Suh-weet! Back in business, baby! We all thought (them included) that it wuz guine cost more than what I paid for the durned thing. So now we have both our computers up and running again, and played sweet, sweet solitaire all night. Ow! Jump back!

Day of the sleepy

Yesterday (Wednesday) Carrie had off. She spent the whole day asleep. Well, not the whole day. She got up at 11:00 to move to the couch to sleep some more. She also ate and showered sometime before getting back to sleep. I even got into the act at on point by sleeping on her while she was alseep on the couch. Later that evening we went to sleep.

How to be a shirt ninja

Yesterday (Tuesday), since I hadn't fixed the tire on the Ford yet I took Carrie to work. Then I had to come and pick her up around noon because she had a split shift due to class. When I got there she said she had more work to do, so I went and dropped of my tapes in Fife first, then came back. She was cranky due to hunger so we stopped at Jack in the Box for Jumbo Jacks wit' Cheese, then went to the post office to mail away many packages for The Bead Factory. Then it was up to the bank to deposit her paycheck, and then it was finally home, where she napped and I worked.

Around 4:00 she asked if I wanted to go to Costco wit' her. I did, but I hadn't showered since like Sunday, so I was feelin' pretty scuzzy. Oh, I went anyway. We did pretty good, only spending $70-something, but it was on stuff that we'll be able to eat over and over again (like hamburgers, salmon, ravioli, etc.).

Then Carrie took the Toyoter back to work to teach a class. I got a call later on from Brandy, who was going to go to a movie with Devon. But Devon never called her back, so she called and asked if I wanted to go to a movie instead. What movie? Oh, Once Upon a Time in Mexico finally. Of course I wanted to see it. So she came over after work and we went to Stadium Thriftway and bought clam chowdah and ate a can of it (she left another can here for when she will inevitably want to come over on a lunch break). We ran into Neighbor Gary in the hall and invited him along to the movie. Geoff showed up aslo right as the previews were bustin' a move.

We all watched the movie, then I came home after midnight and crawled into bed wit' Carrie. I'm several many reviews behind. I don't know why I get like this. I'll see what I can do this week, but there's also an article I want to write. Hmm.

I also taught myself How to be a shirt ninja.

"Slow leak"

Carrie came home yesterday (Monday). Hooray!

Hooray! Hooray!
There's a neat new way
To get a great Crest checkup
The Crest Pump - Hooray!

Where did I just go? There was some more fun car stuff with her return, though. See, she drove herself up to Mark & Viki's in the Ford on Thursday, leaving it up there. When they picked her up from the airport and brought her back to her place she would get back in the Ford and drive it home. Well, when they got back to Mark & Viki's house, Devon said, "Carrie, do you have a flat?"

Carrie looked and said, "Um, almost."

Indeed, the right rear tire is really, really low. Has a "slow leak." I have to take it to one of them gas stations that lets you put air in tires and do that, then drive it to like one of those Mastercare places or something so that people can put that goop in the tire that seals it from the inside.

But anyway, the show in Philly went really well, but the traveling to and from did not. Carrie did an hour-long demo at the show that went over by gangbusters. Everybody loved it (how could they not?). And they made some pretty good bank. And on Saturday night whilst I was out at The Wastelanders show, Carrie was also at a show. She even bought a CD by one of the bands, although I can't remember what they're called and I can't check 'cause I left the CD in the Toyota.

She came home and slept for a couple hours then had to go teach a class while Neighbor Gary and I watched some rasslin'. The class went really well, so she was all beat up from the trip but feelin' fine and cherry wine.

Eventually

Yesterday (Sunday) I woke up around 11:00, what with not having gotten to bed until 4:00 a.m. the night before. Then I made a copy of The Wastelanders CD and took it to Fools Play practice for Geoff. After practice I came home and made Dinner, then just couldn't get to work. Gary came over and we talked for quite a while. I finally talked to Carrie. I'm very, very, very excited she's coming home from Philly today. Eventually around midnight I went to bed.

(Belated) Rockin' good time

I totally forgot to do this yesterday, so here's two entries.

On Saturday I went to Bellingham to see The Wastelanders. I headed out around 5:00, got there at 7:00 on the dot. Then all the peeps went to this place called Rudy's Pizza, which is right nextdoor to the 3-B tavern where The Wastelanders were playing. The show didn't start until 10:00, so we just kinda hung out in the pizza place and 3-B until then. Walked up to a gas station to get Red Bull for the drive home. The first band, The Nines, was okay. Kinda rock/50s swing stuff. The second band, Chuckanut Drive (or something like that), I actually really dug. They were kinda laid back, groovy rock. Very professional. The guitarist for The Wastelanders also played for them. I was tempted to buy their CD (I probably should have). I got really hungry while they were playing so we went to this little dive (I can't remember its name, but it's pretty famous in B'ham) across from The Royal for cheese fries. We got back like a few seconds after the Wastelanders took the stage (the guitarist, Loren, wasn't even on stage yet). Then there was plenty of rockin' good times, and then I drank the Red Bull and drove back home, getting here at about 3:30 a.m.

Now that's capitalism

Yesterday (Friday) was some goot and some bod. One of my laptops refused to turn on or charge a battery (Even though the power light was on indicating that it was plugged in), so I took it up the street to one of them repair places. The guy said he thought he knew what was wrong with it, and if he was correct it would cost more to repair the system than it would to buy an entirely new computer. Fark.

In order to cheer myself up I went to Toys 'R' Us and played with the toys, and played some video games there too. Then I went to Krispy Kreme and bought an assorted dozen. I ate three and took the rest to The Bead Factory.

Oh! Here's something interesting about The Bead Factory. They recently signed up an account at CafePress, and since I'm the one who referred them I apparently get like %5 of everything they sell. They ordered like $400+ from their own store, so it made me like $22. Ca-razy! That's pretty cool. And I know they have plans to buy more stuff from themselves. Plus I'm putting a link to the store on their website, so if anybody else buys something from them I'll make a tiny bit of money for every sale. Now that's capitalism!

Anyway, on the way home from The Bead Factory I picked up some steak and then came home and wrote that new article. I just had to actually sit down and do it is all, and I had a lot of fun writing it, too. I don't know why I hadn't written it, oh, say a month or more ago.

Then after she got off work Brandy came over and I cooked up the steaks with some broccoli, then we went with Geoff, Ed, and Jack Cameron to see Intolerable Cruelty, which (yes) I will review here sometime soon, I swear. Quick review right now: Intolerable Cruelty gives Lost in Translation a run for its money on being the best film so far this year. It's really fantastic.

more mature looking

My redesign of the ANGRY BEEF website continues. I'm thinking it looks pretty good now. It's more mature looking than it was. And I got to incorporate the puttyworld.com ad into it.

Anyway, yesterday (Thursday) Brandy came over after work and we rented Down with Love, which I swear I will review at some point. Short review right now: Thumbs up, baby.

Thanks to the Puttyworld ad people are now typing "ANGRY BEEF" int google, which sends them right to ANGRYBEEF.com of course.

I miss Carrie already. Isn't that crazy? I mean crazy in a cool way. We've been together almost six and a half years and I still miss her whenever, you know, I'm not around her.

Buy some putty

Well, things have finally calmed down now. Let's see if I can remember what happened to me on Thuesday. No? Oh, well. I went to Fred Meyer's and bought cheese and mustard and mayo and salami and jerkey and an onion and some garlic and some Diet Coke. Oh, I also did some minor redesigning of the ANGRY BEEF website. Not much, just a little smoothing out.

Speaking of ANGRY BEEF, about that Fark Photoshop contest I mentioned that I had entered on Monday? Well, it turns out I WON. I didn't get the most votes or anything, but the guy who was running the site really liked mine. What did I win? A $25 gift certificate for putty. Not silly putty. Thinking putty. Here's the entry that won:

Pretty cute, huh? Now ANGRY BEEF is a spokesman for Crazy Aaron's Puttyworld. The ad is currently running over at Fark, so you should go there and see if you can catch it (it doesn't show up all that often—there were three or four other winners). Also, buy some putty, damn it!

Anyway, Brandy took Carrie & Me out to dinner last night (Wednesday) in order to thank us for getting her all of her jobs. No problem, kiddo! Afterwards we stopped by the mall so Carrie could by Natacruz a birthday present at Wet Seal. Brandy tried on this one shirt that looked freakin' awesom on her. We all came back and hung out at our place. Then later Brandy and Carrie went to meet Melissa somewhere (I think Primo Grill) for drinky-poos. I had more work to do, so I did not go.

Then Carrie left for Philly at 4:30 this morning. Freakin' A, man!

My site is getting farked

Tee-hee! I linked directly to an ANGRY BEEF sighting for one of the Photoshop Contests at Fark, and it's totally crashing my site. I'll have to do a real update later today when the traffic calms down some. By the way, it's this pic of Ahnold.

That's Farked up

Well, I'm feeling a little bit better about not getting invited to that movie. I know it was really late when they were going and they didn't know if it would be okay to call the apartment that late. Still kinda miffs me, though. Now everybody I know has seen the film (everybody who wanted to see it at any rate), and I'm probably gonna have to go see it by myslef. I feel like such a loser when I see movies by myself! Roar!

Anyway, yesterday (Monday) I did a whole bunch of ANGRY BEEF promotion by entering Fark Photoshop contests. Actually, by entering the same Photoshop contest four times. I don't get many votes, but I always embed a link to angrybeef.com in my entry, so it brings a whole slurry (slew + flurry) of traffic to the site. Not that I get much out of it. Most people never come back. But a couple hundred hits in a day from one source ain't too bad.

Other than that I got slammed by a whole mess o' gigantic tapes. That's always, um, fun?

Some stuff I forgot

I forgot to mention that during my hiatus last week I stumbled across this really cool music company, Magnatune. I definitely think you should check them out. I also stopped by the house and picked up our mail. I'm gonna have to do that every couple days now until we move in, 'cause it's too much of a pain in das assasso to change our address back here for three weeks and then change it back to the house again. I also am gonna add a link to The Best Page in the Universe, by the guy who FLIPS OUT and does realultimatepower.net.

I also just learned that last night three "friends" of mine went and saw a movie&3151;the one that I most want to see right now—without even bothering to call and see if I wanted to go with them. I dunno if they just assumed that since I live with my fiancee that I'm always busy with her at night or that I never want to hang out with them 'cause they're not coupled up with anybody or what, but man I feel plenty disrespected right now. No, frustrated's a better word. I mean come on! Kind of feels like my whole "overlooked sidekick karma" smacking me in my face again. I might not have even gone considering that they went to a pretty late showing, but I would have at least liked to have gotten an invite! I'm just feeling kind of overlooked/taken for granted right now I guess. Grumble, grumble.

Completely. COMPLETELY !

I completely forgot do to an entry yesterday. Not just forgot a little bit. Completely.

So what happened on Saturday? Nut 'n' honey. Fools Play had a tiny audience, and only Me, Brandy, Sandy, Mathias, and Geoff went out afterwards, and Brandy & Geoff had to leave early anyway. Carrie was at a big bead show up in Seattle so she took the Toyota, leaving me the Ford to drive to Olympia.

Um, Sunday (yesterday) we unsuccessfully defended our Cage Match title against Seattle GOGA. We did "Monster Court" and they didn't even do a longform at all, just strung together a whole bunch of unrelated shortform scenes. They were basically flawless, but they were doing something that anybody in any improv troupe could do. Our scene was actually a longform, and it was much more complicated, and we said the last line and immediately the timer buzzer rang.

You know what, though? Even though only like THREE of our supporters showed up, we still only lost by three votes. Hmm... if Sandy, Mathias, Brandy, and Tashia had showed up we would have actually won. Hmmm...

HMMM.....

Not that I'm sorry to lose. Now we'll actually get to practice Fools Play on Sundays again! I just remembered I'm not going to be at the show this weekend because The Wastelanders are releasing their album and I want to be there to get one of the first copies. It's in Bellingham. Oops!

I like tasting Brandy's cookies

Yesterday (Friday) I propped myself up on the couch, put a pillow under my knees, and brought out my new computer and wrote for an hour and a half straight. Man, it was good. I actually really like the process of writing, which I think is kinda necessary.

Natalie had my Toyota car keys on account o' she had picked up Carrie from the airport the night before, so when I went to go put a check in the bank—oops! No way to get there, as Carrie had the Ford. Luckily Natalie and Carrie were out to lunch together and were just about done when I discovered this. Before Natalie got back with the key, though, Brandy showed up at my door with cookies! I guess it's lucky I didn't have my key after all, otherwise how would I have tasted Brandy's cookies? I like tasting Brandy's cookies.

Anyway...

In the evening Carrie & I went to Fred Meyer and then Home Depot to collect paint chips so we can decide what color we want to paint everything. I think we've decided on "Martini Olive" for the living room (it's a Behr color), some kinda rust for the bedroom, a kinda pale aqua for the office, and a nice warm cream for the kitchen. Carrie wants to do a real funky pink/purple/red/orange thing in the bathroom, but we don't know if Carol will let us do that quite.

I'm back, I'm back. Calm down.

Sorry about what is commonly referred to as a "lack of updates." Carrie was dealing with some family business and had to fly off to Kansas, but she's back now and everything's okay. In the meantime I cleaned the apartment really good, including getting all the clothes off the bedroom floor (now they're on the closet floor) and taking down all the posters and pictures and stuff, and the lights in the bedroom.

On Wednesday I had lunch with Brandy & Geoff at Gateway. Yum-yum, fun for my tum-tum one. Then yesterday (Thursday) Neighbor Gary and I went and saw American Splendor. So I know I'm a few reviews behind, but today is my day off so other than cleaning some more I have nothing to do but write. So I should get at least one done. Promise for reals this time.

Um, what else? Oh, yeah, Carrie had switched our address with the Post Office when we thought we'd already be moved by now, so we're not receiving any mail anymore. Oops! I have to call Carol today and tell her that the mail is probably going to the house and can we please pick it up? Silly monkeys. Mail is for mummified pirates!

I also forgot to mention that before Bubba Ho-Tep we saw the trailer for THE LOST SKELETON OF CADAVRA, which I am hoping is good. It looks as though it could be. Or it could be a complete disaster.

When October 1st rolled around I said, "Oh, s--t, it's October 1st!" I had forgotten to find new "Of the Month" stuff for the navigation bar to the right there. I looked and looked for a good Halloween website, but you know what? I've come to the conclusion that there aren't any. So I just threw up that link to Fangoria.com even though I had never been there before yesterday. If anybody knows a good Halloween website, please tell me so I can put it up instead of Fangoria.com.
