Blogger was down, okay? It's not my fault !

Yes, that's right. Blogger was down most of the day yesterday (Sunday), so I didn't do an entry. And just now I had typed out the whole entry, and then the internet decided to die on me, so now I have to write the whole frikkin' thing all over again. So here's what happened on...

Saturday

I went out and bought paint like I should have (see the Dec 06 entry) and painted the entryway a bright golden yellow color. Well, most of it. I didn't do the corners and around the trim. I also washed some dishes. Brandy stopped by around 3:00 to work on her leftovers from her appreciation dinner on Friday. She was really upset about the robbery on Friday night, and so was I. I felt kinda useless, like there was something more important I could have been doing instead of paining and washing plates and forks.

At Fools Play there wasn't a very big audience, and they were all basically regulars (or at least recurrers), so we went kinda CGNU. I had a lot of fun, especially in a scene where I got to play Kool-Aid Man, and another one where I ran a car lot and had dug a pit with a tiny Christmas tree and some fake snow that I had order a worker to make "smaller and faker."

After the show me, my brother, Rachel, Taisha, and David Rodriguez (yay!) went to this really cool restaurant in Olympia called "Plenty." They have good and unusual food. For example, I had a quesadilla full of pepper jack cheese, tomatoes, and smoked salmon. Tasty fish. Rachel had eggs benedict with smoked salmon instead of ham. David Rodriguez had calamari with a coconut breading, so it was kinda like coconut shrimp except with calamari instead of shrimp. Also very tasty (sweet because of the coconut). Taisha had a turkey burger type deal thingy. I didn't taste it because it had avocado in it, and avocado is against the religion that my allergies practice. Anyway, it was a really neat restaurant (except service was slow, but it was 11:00 at night), and I want to take Carrie there sometime.

When I got home it was very funny, because Cat was over and she and Carrie had had some Heinekins. When I walked in the door Cat turned to me and threw open her arms. "Honey!" she exclaimed as she gave me a big hug. "I'm so glad you're home! How was your day?" Carrie had almost completely cleaned out the living room. It looks really good in there now, except for some residual beading stuff and an unclean coffee table.

Sunday

Sunday Carrie & I both got up later than we wanted, although still very early in her case. I was like an hour behind all day. Around 1:00 I stopped by the store to hang out. Brandy was feeling kinda oogy, so I went and bought her a coffee at Starbuck's. I also brought back a coffee for Nicole and a chai for Steph. Aren't I, like, the best person ever? Right when I got back Brandy got off for her lunch break, but I couldn't have lunch with her (dammit) 'cause I was on my way to Gig Harbor.

At TideFest Carrie had spotted a mirror she really liked for the entryway. It cost a lot, lot of money, though, so I thought I should probably see it before she spent a lot of money on something that I hated. I had tried calling her (twice) earlier in the day to get directions, but she didn't have her phone on her/on, so I looked up Gig Harbor High School's address online and then MapQuest led me there. Carrie was right, though, it was a really pretty mirror. There was actually one I liked a little bit more, but it was much more expensive even.

I got to practice an hour and a half late, to which I say, "oh, well." After practice I swung by Fife, and then when I got home Carrie wanted to go to The Rosewood Cafe for dinner. But then we realized that it was closed on Sunday, so we couldn't really do that. We went to the Parkway Tavern instead. It'd been a long time since we'd been there, so that was nice.

Afterwards I had a couple of tapes to do, and then I was really feeling zonked and I had eaten my club sandwich a mite too fast, so my belly was kind of ticked. I sort of dozed on the loveseat in the office while Carrie dinked around with email and such, and watched the Fools Play Christmas cartoon I made last year. Then we did some extra bills and went to bed before 10:00 at night. What old people we are!

I should go buy paint now

Yesterday (Friday) I spent a good portion of the day laying down the base coat of paint in the entryway. I'm going to go buy the actual color today (Saturday) and get as much done on it as I can.

Brandy & I went out for a "Brandy Appreciation Dinner," but I thought she said she was getting off work at 6:00 when in reality she was getting off at 7:00, so as 7:00 was rolling around I was kinda freaking out a little bit. She wasn't feeling very well at all (headache), so I gave her some Ibuprofen. She also wasn't at all hungry because of the headache, which was funny because being the "Brandy Appreciation Dinner," I was going to take her wherever she wanted to go, but she couldn't decide. She saw some of Carrie's bobby pins on the coffee table and really liked them, so I printed out Carrie's Beaded Gifts handout for her. She listed off a whole bunch of restaurants and I finally decided on one and I drove us in her car. We went to this cool little Vietnamese restaurant on 38th in the opposite direction from Red Robin, but Brandy was so used to going to Red Robin that she started directing me there instead. I had to turn around in the Wherehouse parking lot.

It was a good dinner, and it was nice to hang out and talk with her. She didn't eat very much, but was starting to feel better by the time we left.

After she left I found I had absolutely nothing to do and was bored out of my gourd again. I just wasted time until Carrie called at around 11:00 with the news that The Bead Factory had been robbed. Everyone is okay, and she wasn't out there when it happened, but it was still plenty freaky. She came home and I helped her tag all of her jewelry for TideFest today (and tomorrow) and made her some macaroni and cheese (comfort food) before we finally went to bed at around 12:30 a.m. She had to get up at like 5:00 this morning. Not much sleep!

Anyway, I should go buy paint now.

The stomachological region

Yesterday (Thursday) I was supposed to have dinner with Brandy, but turns out she was scheduled to work until 10:00 and so that wouldn't have probably worked. Hopefully tonight instead.

I did a mixture of tapes and website stuff during the day. Carrie had a split shift and so was home for the middle of the day. She had a lot of jewelry to make for the show this weekend.

After she went back to class and I finished my work I was feeling really bored and kinda lonely. Since I knew Brandy was working late (and had gone in early) I decided to head on down to the Bead Factory to hang out with the people there, see if they needed anything. When I got there Krissy informed me that Brandy had just left (doh!), so I hung out with her instead and wandered around the India Trunk Show in the back. But I was having trouble concentrating on what to buy so I didn't buy nothing. Just kinda hung out.

After I went home and Carrie was done with class she went with Viki and Christine to Red Robin and brought me home a whole mess of cheese sticks. I should not have eaten so many. I feel bad in the stomachological region.

Advent Schmadvent

Carrie & I had bought an advent calender sometime last month, but we both forgot about it until yesterday. So this morning we had to open four of the doors to catch up!

Anyway, yesterday (Wednesday) was pretty uneventful. I actually ate breakfast for the first time in a long, long while, but then I wasn't hungry again until almost time that Carrie came home from work. During the day I went to the post office for stamps and then dropped off the second poster at Ever After. I put up one of the Ikea lights above the bed in the evening.

I wrote a little article (click here) some time in the evening. It's pretty simple and I'm not entirely happy with it, but oh well. I've been feeling very uninspired lately in all endeavors. And yesterday my heart was acting weird, like my chest felt tight and my heartbeat irregular. Carrie said it was probably just 'cause I was tense. I think I need a massage. Or to give one. Hmm...

Some college girl put a link on her website to ANGRY BEEF, and it actually gave me three hits yesterday, so that's pretty cool.

Errands ahoy

Yesterday (Tuesday) I did a ton of errands. Let's see if I can remember them all...
  1. Dropped off my tapes at the Fife drop box
  2. Went to my folks' house and dropped off my mom's precious tupperware (that I had used to take Thanksgiving leftovers from that house) and a big train logo book from Carrie's Dad Jim to My Dad Jim
  3. Picked up an electric drill from My Dad Jim
  4. Stopped by Carrie's folks' house to pick up the purse and gloves she had left there when she and Devon had picked up the dining room table
  5. Swung by the Fife drop box again to pick up my next day's tapes
  6. Stopped at the house real quick to unload the car
  7. Went by Ever After to drop off a special order Carrie had made (wedding jewelry) and to talk about another poster project with Karla
  8. Stopped by the Bead Factory to drop off Carrie's purse/gloves and switch cars because she and Christine were going to go shopping in Seattle that evening and Carrie wanted to use the 'yota.
Wow! Oh, and when I got to the Bead Factory I discovered that Carrie wasn't even there. She was in Sequim with Viki. So I left the purse/gloves with Brandy instead.

I swung by Jack in the Box on the way back to the house and bought an Ultimate Cheeseburger for a late lunch slash early dinner.

Much to my surprise Carrie came home immediately after work instead of heading to Seattle with Christine. Seems Christine needed to fill in somebody's shift that evening and so couldn't go shopping, which kind of sucks for Carrie, but was good for me because I was feeling a little lonely until she showed up.

We watched a lot of Christmas specials. The Family Channel is doing that "25 Days of Christmas" thing where they're constantly showing the old Rankin/Bass specials from now until Christmas. We watched "Frosty's Winter Wonderland," "'Twas the Night Before Christmas (edited)" and then an hour of Charlie Brown stuff on ABC.

Then after all that we went grocery shopping and stocked up on stuff at Fred Meyer. It's weird shopping there after 9:00 at night because it isn't very well stocked anymore, and like nobody is there. We came home and I put away the groceries and then made a Peanut Butter Sandwich while Carrie made Hot Cocoa.

Oh, I also tried replacing the light bulb in the entryway, but when I did I discovered that none of the light switches in the house actually control that light fixture...

Dining in

Mornings are still not a very good time for me. I'm not developing an appetite until around noon or later nowadays. On another whim, I decided to roll over ANGRYBEEF.com to a Christmas-looking design as well. I think it looks really good that way and I'll keep it as such until the new year.

Yesterday (Monday) I went to Fred Meyer and stocked up on lightbulbs. I changed one of the outside Christmas lights that was out, three bulbs in the bathroom (now it's really well lit in there), and the long-life bulb in the hanging lantern from Ikea. I hung that in the bay window on a whim, and it looks really cool. We're thinking of hanging a whole bunch of lantern-type deal thingies from there.

After work Carrie and Devon went and got our dining room table from Carrie's folks' house. It's really pretty! I put the legs on and everything. Now we just have to clear a space around it so that we can actually sit and eat at it! It's spiff-o!

Neighbor Gary came over for Rasslin'. It was one of the better Raws in a long time, with the surprise return of Mick Foley as the new co-GM of Raw. He fired like half a dozen people. It really gave the show a cool, surprising energy. I did dishes during the 'mercials.

Happy Holidays !

On a whim I thought I'd do a little redesign here to reflect the holidays now that it's December. I've also done up the new "Of the Month" stuff, so check that out.

Yesterday (Sunday) instead of going to practice or doing the tapes that I needed to do, I spent most of the day "bonding" with my house so that maybe I might finally be able to feel comfortable here. No, more than that. So that I'd feel like this house was my home instead of being homesick for the apartment. I never realized just how much of myself I'd put in that apartment. It was the first place that I really considered home—my home, that I'd made with Carrie.

But bonding time with this house helped me a lot yesterday. It's starting to come around. Plus the fact that it was a gorgeous day really helped.

Speaking of "bonding," I also spent a good deal (probably too much) of the Thanksgiving weekend watching SpikeTV's James Bond marathon. I don't know why I like James Bond movies so much, but God help me I do. Yesterday I watched Moonraker and most of For Your Eyes Only, which is the one in which the girl gets a total crush on Roger Moore.

Anyway. Carrie had her second day of WinterFest and did pretty well. She got cleared out and came home before 5:30, which was plenty awesome. Then she went to a store meeting while I worked on tapes, and around 7:45 I headed on down to meet her at Lorenzo's for her Bead Factory Birthday Bash. The entire Bead Factory was there—a dozen or so of the most beautiful, wonderful women you'll ever find. It felt so amazingly good to be able to sit in that room surrounded by so many people who are so important to me and just bask in all that love. It was wonderful. And the fact that I was sitting in between Carrie & Christine didn't hurt none either! I caught the tail-end of the meeting, and then everyone gave Carrie presents. Viki even got her a freakin' leather jacket for crying out loud! It was nice, but it felt a bit rushed because the restaurant was shutting down and people had to leave and whatnot.

Then it was home and in bed by 10:00. We are such old people now.
