Back in the habit (not a nun's)

It's hard for me to get back in this whole blog habit. Anyway, on Wednesday I went to the Parkway to have the "finalizing" meeting with the Tensile Dance gang. I got there at 9:30 but didn't end up leaving until like 12:30 a.m. on account of now that Carrie is in Tucson I didn't really have any reason to come home. I kinda had trouble sleeping, too, so I put on Appendix Four of the extended Two Towers.

Last night (Thursday) I went up to Espinoza and hung out up there with Ed, Sandy, Mathias, and their friends Chris & Amy. Chris is pretty cool (oh, and that other one, too). We sang a duet of "Hey, Let's Go," the opening theme song from My Neighbor Totoro. We then watched Unico in the Island of Magic, which I'd seen before but only kinda half-assed. We actually used footage from the climax in the "apocalypse" footage from the "dark angel" part of "The Worst Sketch in the World." Man-o-man that is Unico a dark, scary kid's movie (from Sanrio). It has one of the best movie villains of all time, though, I swears it. It was actually written by the legendary Osamu Tezuka, the creator of Astro Boy (and the manga upon which the recent Metropolis was based). It is also apparently horrendously rare (despite my brother having a copy), so Chris & Amy had to put down like a $150 deposit just to rent the thang from Scarecrow. Ridiculous!

Then afterewards we watched, um, I can't remember what it's called or who made it, but an anime series about people with wings living in a walled-in town that no one can ever leave. Here, I looked it up. It's called Haibane Renme. It reminded me a lot of Hard-Boiled Wonderland and The End of the World: A Novel. Tanner and Geoff showed up around this time as well.

Once again I stayed out late seeing as how I had nothing really to come home to, and I likes haning out at Espinoza a lot. I had been doing butt-loads of cleaning and laundry during the day, so the bed was all covered in clothes that needed to be A) washed or B) put away, so I just grabbed the afghan that Missa made and slept on the couch while watching Bruce Campbell vs Army of Darkness: Boomstick Edition (the director's cut disc).
