My madre came over around 10:00 in the morning to help me with her giant van. We went down to the Big K and I finally bought myself my pretty corner desk. The Big K Ladies stuffed it in the van, and then me and mammon went over to The Bead Factory because she hadn't yet been to the new location. Pretty funny. She was ooh-ing and aah-ing everything.
We went to an early lunch (so I guess kinda brunch) at the Antique Sandwich Company. I had a Po' Boy. She had an avacado/sprouts/tomato/cheese sammitch. Um-mum tastee. Afterwards we came back to my place and wrangled the big ol' desk box out of the van, across the gravel and grass, up the stairs and inside. We had do "walk" it most of the way. Then I made us some tea and we relaxed a bit before she left. It was a fun time with me momma.
Then I got to work putting the desk together. Quite a fun process! I watched Ghost Dog: Way of the Samurai while I worked, and then some bad anime movie (with high production values and a for-me-to-poop-on script). It looks really good in the corner there. Oh, I forgot to mention this yesterday, but on Thursday I also got the Lost in Translation poster featuring Scarlett with the dinosaur walking across the building in the background. It looks really good above my new desk. I put Unicron in the honored position of directly above the monitor.
Anyway, I was just about to make myself some dinner (i.e., eat more of that sauce I made on Thursday) when there was a flurry of knocking on the door. I flung it open and it was Brandy, who told me the news that she got an apartment up by Stadium High School (pretty close to the house). She was very excited and wanted to tell someone right away, and I just happen to live close to the Bead Factory. To celebrate this news we went and bought valentines at Target. I bough Incredible Hulk valentines. She bought Hello Kitty and Powerpuff Girls. I also bought a bag of Sweethearts (for Fools Play).
We went to the Bead Factory to get some leftovers she left there, then she left for Olympia and I stayed and hung out with Steph and Leilani at the BF. I saw Carrie's friend Lisa there—she was taking Krissy's Duchess Necklace class. Hadn't seen her in a while, and she looked great (as always).
Carrie called as I was about to leave, so I drove on home and then talked to her for a while. I watched that Dweezil & Lisa show on The Food Network. They're so freakin' cute. And plus we got to hear Lisa record a new song for her new album, so that was nice and nice. I cleaned up a little more and then just curled up on the couch and went to sleep with the knowledge that the very next day I would be seeing my Carrie again.
