A fun way to spend a Friday night with three great gals

Yesterday was a sleepy time. I woke up at a reasonable hour, started eating my breakfast of sushi from Trader Joe's, and was flipping through the Comcast cable guide. I noticed that The Bourne Identity was about to start on Encore. "Hmm," I thought. "Julia Stiles is in that movie. She's one of Carrie's favorite actresses. I wonder what the film's like."

So I flipped it on, and needless to say she isn't in the first 35 minutes of the film, and when she does appear her scene lasts all of about 45 seconds. She keeps popping up here and there throughout the film to deliver a line or two and then disappear, but the climax does happen at her place, so that's something. She'll be in the next Bourne movie as well I learned from going to IMDB. Not that I think this movie warrants another one. It wasn't really all that great. The Run Lola Run girl was in it, and looked a hell of a lot like Claire Danes. Weird.

Anyway, I picked a split-shifting Carrie up from work and we went to the bank to deposit some checks of hers and then had lunch at Rosewood Cafe. They had this kickass "Cheddar Beer Chowder" that we both had a bowl of. It tasted kinda like Welsh Rarebit, but brothy instead of thick. And it had carrots and celery in it. Mmm-mmm good.

When we came home we kinda fell asleep for a long while. Eventually I went and took the car to Jiffy Lube to get the oil changed and new wipers and whatever else needed to be done on it done. That took about an hour, and it was after 5:00 when I got back. We had frozen microwavables for dinner (pizza for her, hot pockets for me), and then I took her back to the store so she could teach Tic-Tac-Toe Bracelet.

When I got back home I put a call in to Neighbor Gary and left a message on his phone to see what he was up to, if he wanted to grab a beer or something. I then called Steph because she had called me earlier in the day about the Tensile Dance stuff. She wasn't home when I called because she was Carrie's closer at the store. Katie was home, though. Here's basically how our conversation went:

"Yeah, I was just calling because Steph called me earlier about Tensile Dance stuff."

"Oh, yeah, she's not home. She has to work until 10:30 tonight."

"10:30!? Yowzah! So what are you up to tonight?"

"I'm sitting at home drinking a Cider Jack. Me and my exciting life."

"You wanna do something? We should hang out more anyway."

"I really wanna see a movie, but nobody has time to see any."

"I'll see a movie with you!"

So we ended up settling on Miracle at 8:30. I was to pick her up at 8:00 on account of her car being broken. Well, a little bit before I was going to leave I got a call from Brandy who wanted me to come by her place and see it now that it was more setup. So I swung by there for a little bit to congratulate her on having an apartment, then went and picked up Katie and saw a movie with her. I had forgotten to bring any money, though, so afterwards we came back to the house and I dug out some money, then I drove her home, then came back to bed with Carrie. We had some problems falling asleep for some reason. I had a headache; Carrie was in that "Too Tired to Sleep" mode. We ended up playing a game of Skip-Bo before cuddling to sleep. 'Twas a fun way to spend a Friday night, with three great gals.
