And the hits just keep on a-comin'

Hi, I'm back. My belly has been absolutely killing me the last few days, so I haven't been able to do too very much. Except sleep on the couch. And then have trouble sleeping at night due to pain. Ah, well. Wednesday night Neighbor Gary came over and I rented Kill Bill on account of he hadn't seen it yet and the second volume comes out this weekend. He thought it was pretty much bloody brilliant.

Yesterday (Thursday) was very sexciting because Carrie's good friend Mary McEwan came to stay with us for a few days, back from Africa and escaping Bellingham. We had a fun conversation about what exactly is wrong with the city of Bellingham, and partially came to the conclusion that the people who live there wish they lived somewhere else, but they're ashamed of that desire and so overcompensate with this desperate attempt to prove that Bellingham is the best possible place ever! Anyway, in the afternoon Carrie & Mary went wedding dress shopping (and to Fred Meyer), and I got an embarrassed call from Neighbor Gary. Seems he locked his keys in his car at work. Could I come get him and drive him back to the apartment so he could pick up his spare there? Sure, no problems. My belly was feeling pretty a-ok at that point. And it wasn't raining, so I could drive the crappy Ford with its broken wipers.

Comcast is out near the Flying J in Fife, but it's really hard to actually get to. Very deceptive roads there. I drove past it a couple of times before I figured out how to actually get to it—I could see it off in the distance the whole time, though. Anyway, when we got back to the apartment it turns out they changed the outer lock since we moved out so my old key no longer worked. Gary had to bang on Chris Husted's window and then wait for him to put on pants and come open the door. My key still worked in Gary's lock, though, so we were able to get in there. He played me some Charles Manson songs (great voice—kind of a Johnny Mathis vibe) and then I drove him back to Fife and followed him back to T-town.

The ford is getting pretty funny. If you go around a corner at more than five miles an hour it starts screeching out like you're Jerry the race car driver. I did that behind Gary and he stuck his hand out the window like this: \m/

Carrie made a yummy pasta for dinner, and after a trip to the bathroom I was actually able to eat all of it right down despite the nausea. I jumped in the shower after dinner and then Brandy called and wanted to go shopping for Mike T's presents. She knew what she was getting him (if she could find it) but I didn't have much of an idea. She found what she was looking for on the first try, which was pretty amazing. I never did find anything to get him, but we ended up walking up and down pretty much the whole mall, going in clothes stores so Brandy could drool over stuff she couldn't afford.

Afterwards we were gonna go to Target to look some more, but then I got my great idea and so instead she took me to her apartment where she showed me the prints she made in her Photography class at TCC. She admitted that they were a little too dark—detail was lost in some parts. After looking at her shelf of DVDs and admitting that I still hadn't seen Bend it Like Beckham we settled down to watch it. I had no idea it was such a long movie. Well, it felt longer than it was probably because she had to pause it for like 30-45 minutes in the middle while I had a severe belly attack. Ugh. These meds could start working any time now and I really wouldn't mind. Honest. Anyway, at some point while we were watching the second half of the flick after I had recovered enough so that my eyes would actually focus, I heard this soft kind of honking noise, and I look over and Brandy is sound asleep, lightly snoring. So when the movie ended I was all ready to pat her on the head, say goodnight, and drive home. Then I remembered that I hadn't driven there in the first place. So I had to wake her up so she could drive me back home.

The dishwasher had broken earlier in the day (which suxors), so when I came home I found the two ladies already there washing the dishes that I was supposed to wash. I didn't know BiLB was such a long movie! I was able to put many clean clothes away and clean the bathroom floor and whatnot before I had another attack, and then that was pretty much all she wrote for me.

Any day now, meds. Honest. I won't mind.
