Not much work done

Yesterday (Friday) Carrie didn't have to work until 2:30 in the afternoon. In the morning we went to Michael's (the store, not my brother's place) because we had some coupons and they were also having a sale. While Carrie went in there, I went next door to Ross (the store, not that guy from Friends) to return the bathing suits we got in Santa Fe that we never ended up using. There was absolutely no problem, which very much impressed me. Usually there's some hassle associated with returns, especially if you bought the merchandise in another state. But it went very smoothly, and I gots the 40-some dollars put back on my card, which felt good.

Carrie bought some papeir-mache boxes and a cool wood scrapbook cover that she can decorate how she wants to give as a gift. She made sammitches for lunch, and then a while later we walked down to Starbuck's. I have to say, I was barely able to make the trip back in time. Whoo! That was a close one.

Anyway, Carrie went off and taught Stringing Materials to the new girls at the BF while I lounged around and basically did nothing. I watched most of that awful Reign of Fire movie, but I missed the first 15 minutes or so, so I can't really say I've seen it all. I'm somehow thankful for that. Carrie called and said she was on her way home for dinner, so I cooked up some pork chops and zuccini (I baked the pork chops in a covered bakeware dish with only pepper as seasoning, then I fried up the zuccini in butter with salt, garlic powder, bacon bits, and just a tiny dash of maple syrup). I garnished everything with a couple of sprigs of chives and a thing of parsely so it looked like an Iron Chef meal. We ate outside on the front porch while Fantastico wandered around out there with us, turning her head sideways and sticking it between the boards of the porch railing and rolling around on the path (instant back scratcher).

After dinner Carrie went to teach Stringing Techniques again. I meant to get some work done in the evening, but Brini Maxwell was on, and I'd never actually seen her before. Holy crap that show is an experience. It's hard to tell whether or not anything in it is a joke or if it's all serious or what. It's crazy. Like watching... well, there is no real comparison that I can think of.

After Brini there was that show about Nick in the city, New York Nick, and it had an awesome idea on it: Spiking a watermellon. Cut a small hole a few inches deep in the top of a watermellon, then upend a bottle of vodka into the hole and let it soak overnight. Come the morning, the watermellon will have absorbed all of the vodka throughout itself, and it'll be like eating solid chunks of vodka.

Anyway, after that Cartoon Network started showing episodes 11-15 of Clone Wars, so I watched them. It's very interesting to see them back to back like that instead of spread out over a series of days. At 9:00 they showed episodes 16-20, so I watched those, too. I hadn't seen but one of those. The end fight between Darth and that sith chick is freaking incredible, where Darth gets more and more angry and more and more unstoppable. Great stuff. And when he's walking through a cave and there's water dripping from the ceiling, and the splashes sound suspiciously like Darth's breathing mask. Vunderbar.

A while after that I actually got up off my ass and wrote an Article. I know, it surprised me as well. Nice to know I'm getting back into the habit of doing this website. Now if I could only get it through my head that I actually need to write reviews of the movies I see...
