At no extra charge

Yesterday (Monday) I had to be up by 8:00 because someone from Roto Rooter was coming by to see why whenever we use the washing machine, water comes bubbling up out of a pipe in the laundry room. He couldn't get ahold of Carol, though, so left. That meant that I had time to take carrie to the dentist for... a Root Canal.

Yes, poor Carrie had a Root Canal done. I dropped her off, then got gas and went to the Fred Meyer bank to put $300 into her account so that bills could get paid. I bought some apples and bananas and milk and Grape Nuts while I was there, then came home and ate an apple (with some peanut butter) using my magic apple corer. I then drove back up to the dentist place and got out I Robot: The Illustrated Screenplay and read about 80-90 pages before Carrie came out. I thne paid for her dental work and took her home.

Well, almost. First I took her to Bartell's so she could get some painkillers that would make her drowsy, then swung by Jack in the Box for a milkshake and some curly fries for her.

Then it was home and sleepytimes for her. I worked on ANGRY BEEF a bit, making the sightings for the rest of the week just to get that out of the way. In the late afternoon a different plumber came by (actually the same one that fixed our sink before Christmas) and took a look at things. He had a different solution than the Roto Rooter guy. He also killed a GIGANTIC spider on the way down to the basement--at no extra charge. He found a pipe in the basement that had been repaired with duct tape, which was kind of embarrassing. But it had been working for the past five years, apparentely, so I can't complain.

Anyway, Carol stopped by after 5:00 and I gave her the estimate and everything. Carrie came out from the bedroom and slept some more on the couch. I also got sleepy, so I went in the bedroom and put on The Rundown and was alseep within 15 minutes. I didn't wake up until Neighbor Gary came by for rasslin'. Carrie moved to the bedroom, and after rasslin' I moved there as well and actually slept pretty quickly. Bill Murray was on David Letterman, but I was asleep before he came on. That ain't too shabby.
