Day off!

Yesterday (Monday) I had the day off, so I got up and took a 45-minute walk. I spent a good deal of the first part of the day cleaning up the living/dining room after the aftermath of the 4th of July party. It went very well. At one point Cat stopped by (because she thought she'd left her platter here, but she hadn't) and said she couldn't believe a party had happened in there just yesterday!

I packed a couple of lunches into my Japanese bug spray lunchbox and walked down to the BF to have lunch with Carrie, who was really too busy to come home for lunch. I made chicken sammitches. After lunch I drove up to her folks' house (they were out watching a movie), broke in, and fixed their computer and TV. I'm industrious!

I got home and grilled up all the ribs and chicken that hadn't gotten grilled on the 4th, and when Carrie (finally) got home at like 6:45 or so we ate 'em up. Then we went to the Tacoma Mall and Carrie got some "shopping therapy" done. She's feeling much less stressed than she has been feeling of late, which is, as they say, a good thang. She bought some jeans and a shirt and a skirt, and I bought a new shirt. We swung by Chez Target on the way home and she bought some hair dye.

Later in the evening after we'd gone to bed, Carrie made smores in the oven. She thought all the carbs and whatnot would put us in a food coma. It worked for one of us. Not her, though. Oops! She didn't get good sleep because she was up all night, and I didn't get good sleep because she kept waking me up because she couldn't sleep.
