Yesterday (Thursday) a miracle happened upon the land, and in its wake Geoff's truck was fixed. So he came and picked me up and drove up to Mikoko's, who drove us the rest of the way to work. Then after work he drove me back to mine house.
I called Carrie to see what the plan was, and she asked if I could drive ghetto car up to her folks' house to pick up sheets and blankets for our next houseguest. She said she'd call ahead and tell them I was coming and what to give me. So I says, "Sure, baby!" and I drives up towards the place whereat it is to take place.
When I get there I just get blank stares from her dad. "Carrie was supposed to have called and let you know I was coming," I says.
"Oh, she did call, but I couldn't hear her because she was on her cell phone."
"Oh, sure," I says. "It was the cell phone. Uh-huh."
Her mum loaded me up with blankets but just could not understand that I only needed one fitted sheet. No matter how many times I said it.
I then drove to meet the peeps at Rock Pasta. The lovely Lisa Claxton was outside smoking and I almost walked right on by her. We were sat in a little back room in which I'd never been before. I had "Smoke on the Water," which as always is excellent.
After din-dins we all went back to our house and the three girls all talked bead business stuff and ooh-ed and aah-ed over each others' things. Carrie made cosmos. I watched rasslin' on mute in the background, and then Teen Titans not on mute. Then Carrie and I, we went to bed place.
