Seven Seven-Elevens

Yesterday (Sunday) was a special day. I'll get to that in a moment.

Being that Sunday was my actual only day off, I decided to actually take it off. There were things I could have done, but you know what? I didn't do them. I didn't do much of anything during the day. Carrie had left at an ungodly hour to go do the PSBF. Me? I slept in until 11:00 and it was wunderbar.

It's actually kind of hard for me to remember exactly what I did during the day, which is a good thing to me. I know I watched the last two-thirds of Blade II. I went to Stadium Thriftway for some Secret Stuff. I showered around 2:00 or 3:00 in the afternoon. I played around on this here internet thingy. You know. I relaxed.

Around 5:00 or so I popped Castle in the Sky into the DVD player in the bedroom. Not the movie itself, but rather Miyazaki's complete storyboards set to the movie's soundtrack. Good lord that man was meticulous. The storyboards are precise. As usual, though, I fell asleep somewhere in the middle of the flick. Ah, well.

The three ladies came home around 7:00 and I had my Secret Stuff all set up on the coffee table for them to see while I was hiding in the bedroom in back of the house. "What's this Secret Stuff?" you might be asking. Why, a vase full of pretty flowers, a card with "Carrie" written on the envelope, and a six-inch chocolate cake with the words "Happy Anniversary Carrie" hand written on it (by my own hand).

That's right. Yesterday was our SEVENTH ANNIVERSARY! And also the ONE-YEAR ANNIVERSARY of when I proposed to her.

Carrie saw the cake as soon as she came through the door and was appropriately delighted and surprised, although I think Lisa was even more delighted than Carrie was. She kept Awww-ing at me. What can I say? Best boy ever! That's ME, baby. ME.

We celebrated our anniversary by everybody grabbing forks and chawing down on that there cake. There was only a small sliver left by the time we were done. Then Carrie, drove down to Rock Pasta to pick up five pizzas and two salads and drove them up to Mark & Viki's house, where we hung out for a while (and where I beat the Flower Cup of Mario Kart Double Dash on "Mirror" mode for the kids). Then finally we went home and I said goodbye to Lisa on account of I would be gone to work by the time she got up. Well, I would get to see her as she slept (like a rock) on the couch, but that don't really count, do it?

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY CARRIE!
