A surprise invitation

Yesterday (Wednesday) I drove the whole way to Seattle work and back.  It was okay; it'd been a while since I'd done so.  We listened to Juliana Hatfield in the car.

We finished up the first phase of our lives as builders at work.  Now we embark on exciting new adventures!

Anyhoo, Carrie had to teach class at night, which is unusual for a Wednesday, but the PSBF kind of screwed everything up.  I managed to get home before she had to leave.  She was sitting on the bedroom floor curling her hair.  Just as she was about to leave I got a call on my cell phone from Devon wondering if the two of us could go have dinner at one of Carrie's favorite restaurants.  I've forgotten the name of it!  Don't worry, when I learn it I'll put it here:

Anyway, I told Devon that Carrie had to teach a class.  So he invited just me instead.  Carrie was very jealous (tee-hee).  I tried to watch some Big O on InDemand (for free), but the sound kept on jerking around and it was kind of hard to watch.  Also the phone kept ringing off the hook for some reasons I can't remember.

I picked up Mary and we drove over to PLU and found the place no problem.  I drove up Pacific, which is unusual, but I still didn't trust the freeway past the mall at that point in the evening.  Dinner was me, Mary, Devon, and Rochelle.  Mary & I had the Gorgonzola Chicken.  Devon had some special salmon thing.  Rochelle had a prawn and scallop ginger salad thing.

Holy crap that food was good.  The company didn't suck, neither.

I brought home a goodly portion of my dinner for Carrie since she missed out.  But first I took Mary home.  And when I emerged from her apartment, I suddenly had this:

Egads!  'Tis a laptop!  It hath no working battery, so it's basically a tiny, old desktop computer that you can easily carry around.  It also doesn't have word on it (I'll see what I can do about that, eh?) and is still running Windows 95!  Yowzah!  But I am very grateful.  And so is Carrie.  Now she can play solitaire at night to fall asleep (assuming I don't keep her up with my snoring).

Anyway, Carrie called shortly after I got home with the 'puter and so I went and picked her up.  She came home and ate the leftovers that I got for her.  Then we went to bed, but she had some real trouble sleeping.  Not even solitaire helped!

Oooohhhh nnnnooooooo!
