Merry Mary

Hey! Look at the timestamp at the bottom of this entry: I'm awake before 8:00! Okay, really it's because Carrie wanted to get to work an hour early so she could get off an hour early so she could do some things she was too tired to do last night.

Last night; what a night. Well, I'll start earlier than that. Melissa was on her way to Costco to buy Bead Factory stuff. Carrie realized that if I went with her that we could save a buttload of time in the evening. So Missa picked me up, we went to the bank real quick, and then to Costco, where I did my bidness while she shopped.

My mom came over around 1:00 and the two of us met carrie at Gateway to India for lunch. Carrie had to rush back to work (stopping by the liquor store on the way), and after she left Ed happened to drive by and see me and my mom in there, so he stopped in to say hi.

I took my mom to the store to see the progress I'm making on the mural. She ooh-ed and aah-ed like a good mom should.

In the late afternoon I got a phone call from Geoff thanking me for the target="_awesome" shirt that I gave him when I went to his apartment. He had worn it to work and caused several people to "bust a gut." Yay!

Then when it was 5:00 I picked up Carrie from work and we went directly into shopping. We stopped by Costco again very briefly before heading to Cost Plus World Market, then over to University Place to hit the Fred Meyer there (where we found NOTHING that we were looking for, by the way) and then the new Trader Joe's.

From there it was a quick stop back at home to jam some stuff in our bellies before we headed over to Mary's apartment for a little holiday get-together. We knew nobody there except for Mary and Jimbo. Ditto for Mary—all the people there were friends of Jimbo's. Devon showed up shortly thereafter as well. Mary exchanged presents with us. I painted her a tiny 4" X 6" painting (abstractish). Carrie made her jewelry and got her an argyle journal thing (very cute). Mary gave us a bed quilt and pillowshams that she'd made herself!!1!1!1!!! They were originally gonna be wedding presents, but it took too long to make, so they ended up being wedding/Christmas presents.

Later in the evening Carrie, Mary, Devon, and Jimbo all played that game where you try to get someone to guess a word but there's a list of words that you can't say. That one. Yeah. No, the other one. Yeah, that one.

Did I mention that I really like Mary? Yeah, I really like her a lot.

We left the shindig and went straight to target and then to our own Fred Meyer, where we DID find what we were looking for. Grumble-grumble University Place Fred Meyer! Grumble!
