Werner von Braun in da Hizzouse

Even thought it may not have seemed like it, I actually got up really early yesterday (Wednesday): I was out of bed before 8:00.

The reason was simple, really. Carrie wanted to be at work at 8:00. She and Viki were going to go over to Sequim or someplace like that to buy stuff for the store (beads and stuff, you know). Well, around 11:00 I get a call from Carrie saying that they decided not to go after all. The stuff they wanted to get was simple enough that they could just place an order for it instead of driving out there and looking it over.

That meant that I didn't have to go over to Mark & Viki's house to watch the kids for a bit that evening, which was originally the plan.

Instead, I brought Carrie some lunch (1/2 a Trader Joe's pizza, some chips and hummus, and crots), then picked her up at 4:15. Carrie was feeling weirdly restless, so we grabbed some books and headed out to Panamonica's, where we sat on soft couches and read while drinking beer and hard limes (I'm re-reading The Cat Who Walks Through Walls... again). Nicole came and joined us on her dinner break. I had the Turkey Melt. It was delish.

When we got home I worked on ANGRY BEEF and gathered some materials for the next Article I'm going to write. Carrie watched Sex and the City and cleaned.

Oh, I've been watching the Walt Disney Treasures - Tomorrowland: Disney in Space & Beyond DVDs. My god, they're like everything I could wish for (except at only 4 hours of stuff, they're a little short). Not only are they popularized science (which I love), but they're done in a wonderful 50s stylism that is beyond beautiful. Plus, they actually have people like Willey Ley and Werner von Braun. Werner von Braun! The man who was in charge of the V2 project! This guy practically invented space flight!

I am such a geek.
