Top of the Wedding Cake

Yesterday (Friday) I had a tonne of work to do to get the Bead Factory Workshops up and running. Well, not running, but up. They'll be running next week.

When I picked up Carrie for lunch she had a suprise. Lemme ecksplain. You know how when you get married you're supposed to save the very top of your cake so you can eat it on your one-year anniversary? Yeah, we didn't do that. We ate it the next day. Man, it was freakin' good. So Viki had the top of our cake re-made and yesterday she gave it to Carrie.

I went to the bank and deposited $51.00 worth of change we'd accumulated. It weighed a lot.

After work we went up to Federal Way to my folks' house to celebrate Susan's birthday (we're gonna be outta town on her acktyoowal birthday). Mike gave her pyjamas with a cat that looked a lot like Ace on them. We gave her some picture frames and earrings. We met her boyfriend Jason and his daughter Alexis (not as cute as our Lena). Then after presents and Strawboy Shortcake everybody drove back down to Tacoma for din-dins at Harbor Lights. The place is really old-fashioned; I bet their menu hasn't changed in 20 years. Tons of fried stuff, coleslaw, all that kind of thing. Not a modern contrivance on the menu anywhere. It was okay, but a little pricey for the quality (though quantitiy is high). Alexis y I played with tiny pink dinosaurs and crackers. After a large cracker got broken into several pieces Carrie said, "See, this is why we're not having children."

When we got back home I had to finish up the BF stuff. Took an hour. Then it was a few tracks of Mario Kart and orf to behd.
