When I picked her up from work we drove straight to the new location of Ever After so that she could put her jewelry out. Karla says they're opening today (Tuesday), but that place was still totally thrashed while we were there last evening, so they had a tonne of work ahead of them. Anyway, the new store is really big and very cool. I went with Lisa's parents and explored the back of it. It has a packaging area, a storage area, an upstairs room with its own storage area, and a balcony that overlooks the whole store and packaging area. It's pretty spectacular. Karla let me take home two scented candles in exchange for a small re-design I'd done of the Ever After logo.
After that Carrie & I walked just three doors down to Vin Grotto, a really awesome place that we always forget about. We were surprised it was open on Monday, seeing as how practically no other restaurants are. It's just such a cute place, maybe a little smaller than The Rosewood (more on that later), but with a whole wine cellar type of place out front. Carrie & I ended up being the only people there during the whole duration of our meal, which was antipasti and blue cheese torte things with dried fruit compote.
After Vin Grotto we went strait to Target for the purpose of getting Christmas cards. We didn't find any that we liked enough to get, but we did stock up on some other little gifts for people. And cats.
From Target we went to The Rosewood to have drinks with Melissa, Travis, Christine, and Lawrence. The Rosewood does this thing on Mondays where its wine-by-the-glass is less expensive than every other day of the week. Carrie & I had beer, though.
Lawrence and I had a couple of total geek-out moments when talking about Silverhawks and also Voltron. He wanted to come over and see my toy collection in the office here. Speaking of which, I really need to find a better way to display some of them...
Anyway, it was very funny because the two of us were geeking out to the max, and Melissa suddenly says, "Oh, I need to interrupt you guys."
We both looked at her expectantly.
"That's it," she said. "I just wanted to interrupt you."
So that was a really fun evening. Carrie & I might make The Rosewood a weekly thing if possible.
