The actual day itself was relatively uneventful. Carrie went to work and worked; I stayed home and worked. I picked her up for lunch and she made tomato gnocci. Then she took the car back to work and worked; I stayed where I worked.
In the late afternoon I talked via teh intarweb with Kris ("Archie"). Her dad was thinking about getting a website to sell his custom knock-off furniture, so Kris was inquiring about my rates and what-not. It was nice to chat with her. She has a new cat:

Carrie came home and we got to relax for a couple of minutes before driving up to Renton (Rent-uhn!) to attend Sophia & Julian's 11th birthday party at the Bullwinkle's Family Fun Center. I ate pizza and cake, played ski-ball with Carrie, and Laser Tag with a whole bunch of little kids (and Mark). It wasn't too bad of a time. Carrie got to hang out with Viki, too.
At 8:00 we left there and drove straight up to Seattle to the fancy restauarant known as Brasa (which is apparently portugese for "live coals"). It was very schmancy, and Carrie felt a little underdressed.
Why were we there? Why, for Sandy's birthday party (in case you couldn't guess by the title of this post). Carrie & I were the first people to show up, but only by a couple of minutes. Sandy & Mathias and Leia & Kedar were right behind us. Geoff & Mike showed up after that, and then Ed rounded out the cast. None of her non-Fools-Play friends ended up being able to come, due to car accidents and flus and fun stuff like that.
I had a half-order of ravioli with asiago and currants, which was very, very tasty. Carrie had a Portugese seafood stew type of thing, which was good, but ended up being way too salty. She was a little disappointed, because s she said, "If I'm going to pay $30 for something It'd better be perfect." There were carpaccio appetizers and I got to taste pretty much everybody else's food, such as Tuna, pork, and rabbit. And for dessert Carrie & I got Spanish doughnuts, but there was also marscapone cheesecake and the waitress gave Sandy a cool chocolate mousse-filled cake with a birthday candle on it.
It was a good time. Expensive (especially considering that I just wrote checks for all of our bills), but good. I like Sandy. I'm glad she had a birthday. Too bad her present didn't show up in time.
We ended up staying at Brasa from 8:30 until after 11:30, so it was after midnight by the time we got to bed.
