Abalou, Capoeira, Abalou!

Yesterday (Tuesday) I spent the almost whole morning (after waking up, of course) working on the Locust Street Taxi album cover, incorporating their notes of my original rough.

Then at 1:00 my dad came over and the three of us walked down to Primo Grill for lunch. I had the Ahi Tuna special. It was one of the best meals I've had in a long, long time. It's really spectacular.

After we walked back home Carrie drove off to see her own dad, and my dad and I went to the Washington State History Museum so he could look at the big model train they have upstairs. I'd never actually been in to see any of the exhibits there before (although I had gone inside in order to do a Fools Play show once... a long time ago). There's always something I find delightfully cheesy about museums where the mannequins have speakers in them and voice actors read off scripted dialogue. There was a lot of that in this museum. Also upstairs they had a life mask of Abe Lincoln. Also a hand mask—his hands were surprisingly small for such a tall man.

After the museum we walked across the Bridge of Glass and back.

Anyway, I got home before Carrie and continued to work on the album cover. She came home and took a nap until about 5:45, at which time she commenced to cook din-dins: pork chops, potatoes with onion & garlic, and mixed vegetables. Rather tasty, especially the potatoes.

At 7:15 I left to go get my ass kicked by capoeira at Barefoot Studios. I actually did much better this time than the first time; I didn't have to take nearly as many breaks, and the breaks weren't nearly as long. The three students there (me, Jimmy, & Steph) are all at very different skill levels: Steph is in great shape and is a dancer; Jimmy is in great shape but is not a dancer; I'm not in great shape nor a dancer.

I came home and relaxed with Carrie for a bit. At 10:00 I started watching the new ECW show (the first match of the night had someone go through a table, and also throw a chair into someone else's knees only to have it bounce back and hit him in his own face). Neighbor Gary stopped by to drop off some discs of his website content, and stayed to watch the last half of the show.

Then I went to bed, where Carrie played some Mario Kart DS to make herself sleepy. I played some Animal Crossing after that until I couldn't keep my eyes open any more.

For some reason last night Fantastico was very aggressive in her affection, to the point where she would rub up against my face while I was asleep, thus making me no longer asleep. It was very strange, as she usually steers clear of our heads during the nighttime.

My favorite part of Ahi Tuna is that it can be like a perfect fake of a perfect steak.

So, you're studying a martial art too, now? Are you and Geoff going to try to make a Fools Play bit out of that after your body's ripped?
