I finished off the 5th disc of Veronica Mars yesterday (Monday), watching one episode during breakfast and another during lunch. Carrie didn't come home for lunch, so I had the whole place to myself, though I found it frustratingly difficult to get any work done for some reason. In the later afternoon I suddenly felt atrociously tired. It really felt like my face was trying to pull away from my skull. It was fascinating. Kind of like the pressure of a headache without the pain? Yeah, that'd be a good way to describe it. Kind of.
At any rate I fell asleep for about 45 minutes before Carrie called and I went to get her. We still didn't have any food in the house, so we were faced with the same dinner quandry as the previous day. Yesterday we decided to send me to MSMII and pick up some sandwiches. I got a 9" italian sub for me and a 6" vegetarian sub for Carrie.
It was a rather hot day, and those are the best days to get Carrie to go see a movie, due to the fact that movie theaters are usually much more air-conditioned than the outdoors. So we decided to go see Nacho Libré. I called Brandy to see if she wanted to join us, but she was hanging out with Carly that evening. So we called Lawrence and he was eager to join us.
Carrie & I played a game of Mario Kart before leaving to pick him up (he doesn't have a car), then we went to the old AMC on Mildred and saw a very, very funny movie. It totally had the feel of a Wes Anderson movie. Fascinating. I now have, what, five movie reviews to write? I'd better write one today. I know I planned to write a couple last week, but for some reason I was insanely busy last week and it just flew by.
We brought Lawrence to our place after the movie and Carrie schooled him a bit in a game of Mario Kart. But it was really his own fault; he insisted on picking the gold car (the "pimpmobile" as he called it) rather than a more easily-controlled car. There was a CD from Neighbor Gary waiting in the mailbox when we got back, containing more songs for me to post on his website.
We took him home around 11:30 then came home and went to bed, sleeping above the covers due to the heat. The overhead light in the bedroom seems to be a little bit broken. You can pull the chain to turn it on/off, but it doesn't spring back up to reset the switch; you have to push the chain back up into the fixture until you hear it click. Annoying. I don't know enough about ceiling fan light fixtures to look into it myself right now...
