Faceplant

Yesterday (Sunday) I solved a fascinating geometry puzzle whereby I managed to wrap a baby shower gift with too-small pieces of wrapping paper, and made it look nice to boot. Yes, Carrie went to another baby shower yesterday, this one way the heck up in Everett. Took her almost two hours to get there and almost two hours to get back.

I, meanwhile, cleaned the living room up and set Roomba loose in it. Then Fools Play practice happened, and Taisha was actually able to attend, which was a nice change. Geoff burned me a CD of all the old Crazy Boy Floyds stuff that he had on his laptop, so I finally have most of those songs...

After everyone left I watched an episode of Veronica Mars before Carrie came home. We couldn't figure out what to do for dinner. It was a hot day, so we didn't really want to cook. We thought about Katie Downs, which I thought was too expensive. Plus, since it was a hot day probably everybody else in Tacoma was thinking about Katie Downs. We mused briefly about going to The Parkway or maybe even going to MSMII Deli and getting a sandwich.

But a phone call with Linnea settled it; we were going to go over to their house for some barbequed hot dogs and some home-made onion rings. Heck yeah! We made a spinach salad and I grabbed a couple of beers to bring over. The onion rings Jay made were really good.

After dinner Carrie & Lena were playing on the grass. Lena really likes to roughouse with Carrie because it's basically impossible for her to hurt Carrie. But it's not impossible for her to hurt herself. Case in point: when Lena ended up vaulting off of Carrie's back and landing face-first on the grass. Whoops!

It took quite a few visits from "Dr. Chris" for her to feel better. Carrie felt pretty bad about it, though.

Eventually we came home and I worked on some intarweb stuff while Carrie worked on some dishes and bedroom stuff. Then we watched a couple of episodes of Veronica Mars while Carrie played some Mario Kart DS before going to sleep well after midnight.
