Yesterday (Tuesday) was obviously the 4th of July. Carrie & I loaded up our car and met the Tarbets at a Safeway parking lot around 10:30 in the morning, and then we all drove off to Penrose Point State Park on the Key Peninsula. I'd never been back there before. It's pretty secluded.
We were eventually joined by some other Bead Babes, including Christine, Heather, Melissa, and Laura, and their significant others where applicable. Also Jay's friend John was there. I taught everybody how to play Two-Sticks, and at one point this li'l kid named Sergei (there was a big contingent of Russians at the part that day as well) came over and asked if he could play, so we showed him how and he really got into it.
There was also walking over to a lagoon, playing croquet, and snacking & barbequeing. And also some drinking.
Eventually around dusk we decided to head out, but first we helped Jay, who had accidentally locked his keys in the truck. He figured out how to pop the back window out of place and then used a coat hanger to hook the keys. It was really cool.
Carrie & I drove back home. I started to watch the documentary about Superman, but I fell asleep so I went to bed instead. But around 4:00 in the AM I woke up and couldn't go back to sleep until around 6:00 or so! It suxored. I'm plenny tired right now because of it.
