I picked up Carrie for lunch and Leia called and said she'd be running a little late because she'd gotten involved in a tiny fender-bender on 405. Yikes! Nobody hurt, no damage to speak of to her car. She was understandably a little grumpy when she showed up. So we went out to lunch at that Chinese place on 6th Ave and had a couple of their lunch specials. I amazed us both by eating my entire plate of almond chicken, while she could only eat a third of her gigantic plate of chow mein.
We came back home, and I put on Veronica Mars for us to watch while we painted. Here's what Leia painted:

And here's what I painted: I call it "Kick the Can" and it's my Painting of the Week #8 (I'm almost caught up; I just have to paint one either Sunday or Monday and I'll be back in busyness):

That poor robot is so sad! Leia had never seen Veronica Mars before, so it was nice to introduce her to such an excellent show. We watched the entire first disc while painting, me giving her insanely tense back a backrub, and playing some Animal Crossing: Wild World. I caught two new types of bugs in her town!
During the course of that afternoon Sandy called both of us a couple of times, and we kept on browbeating her to try to get her to come down and hang out with us. In the end, she and Mathias decided to come down to T-town and have din-dins with me at Gateway to India, the bestest Indian restaurant evah. Leia decided not to join us, as she had to go back up north and deal with car accident stuff and what-not. So she dropped me off at the restaurant around 6:30.
Why didn't I drive myself? Because when Carrie got off work she stopped by the house for just a minute and then drove up to the Southcenter area to hang out with her friend Dawn, whom she hadn't seen in several years due to Dawn being out of the country. They had dinner together and then saw that dance movie Step Up.
So anyway, I was at Gateway to India by 6:30, and traffic coming down from Seattle was so bad that Sandy & Mathias didn't arrive until 7:00, after nearly two hours in the car. Yikes! We had a nummy din-dins and then the three of us went back to my house and watched Serenity. Sandy & Mathias had just finished watching the complete Firefly series, and so were itching to watch the movie that capped it all off. They loved it, of course.
Carrie came home towards the end of the movie, and not having yet watched the series excused herself. When it ended she came back and talked about the movie she'd seen. She liked it, which is no big surprise, but she said that several parts were (and I quote) "cheese-doggy-dogg" and that the acting was at times like a high school drama audition.
After Sandy & Mathias left to go home, Chris & Carrie went to bed.
