Ch-Ch-Changes

So yesterday (Thursday) was quite a big, big day for me. I won't tell you why until Sunday, though (ha-ha-haaaaa). It was a basically regular morning, except that Carrie came home for her split-shift an hour early, around 11:30.

At noon I drove down to the Tacoma Mall to go to an appointment. They were doing frakking construction on the main road leading to the mall, so I actually had to drive all the way around it to get where I wanted to go.

Brandy called me to ask if I wanted to join her and Laura at Gateway to India for lunch. I stopped off at home to see Carrie first, then I went down and saw them. Hooray! I'm glad Brandy's back in town for a few days.

I only stayed a few minutes (maybe ten at the most), because Carrie & I were going over to Linnea's to hang out with her and the kids for a while. That was fun; I worked with Lena on her counting skillz. She thought it was amusing to skip from 2 to 6.

At 3:00 we went down to that little park on the Tacoma waterfront for Heather's rehearsal dinner. Carrie and Brandy are both actually in the wedding (briefly), but I'm not. However, I did get to stand-in for one of the girls who couldn't be there. It should be a fun wedding; I'm getting pretty excited for those crazy kids.

After the rehearsal we popped by the house real quick so Carrie could prettify herself for the class she was going to be teaching later in the evening. We then drove out to Point Defiance to meet the wedding people for the rehearsal dinner, which was a big barbeque picnic. I ate a hot dog AND a hamburger. It was too much food. Whoops!

I drove Carrie from the dinner straight to the store for her class. I went home and stretched a whole bunch, because I didn't want to be sore for Capoiera that evening. Capoeira was actually a lot of fun this time, although I've learned that I am not very good at all at pivoting. There was one jumping spin kick that I always ended up landing facing backwards. It was pretty funny. I'm pretty sore today, and I'll likely be even more sore tomorrow, but there is one really, really cool thing: I can reach down and touch my toes now! I haven't been able to do that since I was in junior high!

After Capoeira I watched the Ray Harryhausen classic 20 Million Miles to Earth. It is really some of his best work. Very inspirational, even 50 years later.

Periodically throughout the day whenever I had a spare moment, I worked on making copies of a CD for Heather. Many, many copies.

Carrie came home (Jen dropped her off) after class and made some "kitchen pasta" that turned out to be a stroganoff-style dish that was really, really tasty. That and a brownie-with-ice-cream dish rounded out the evening.
