Not Mike at All... But a HIDEOUS ROBOT

Yesterday (Saturday) we slept in a little bit, partly to recover from the wedding funtimes the night before, and partly because it was just nice to sleep in. Carrie slept in even later than I did. In fact, after she woke up and moved into the living room, she decided to take a nap.

I was having trouble getting Blogger to upload all the wedding pictures correctly, so I ended up having to make my own thumbnails and upload it all myself. Kind of a pain, but not like I haven't ever done it before.

Around noon I went to MSM and bought a sammitch, then swung by Starbucks for some coffee for Carrie. We ate the Sammitch for lunch, then each of us got to work on our upcoming shows. Carrie made jewelry; I worked on designs for Thirsty Robots.

Then at 3:00 we packed up some cheese, grapes, and wine and drove over to Nicole's folks' house, where she had some bread and brie and kiwi and such yummies. We had a picnic out on their front deck, which has the MOST spectacular view of the Tacoma Narrows. Next time I go over there (though who knows when that'll be), I'll have to bring my camera. It's just a perfect side-view of the Narrows bridge(s). Anyway, it was fun hanging out with Nicole. She told a great story about how her cat, Chester, adopted its own cat.

We drove back home in time for me to take a shower (which only takes a fraction of the time it used to) and get ready to go to Fools Play. Carrie, meanwhile, walked over to Linnea's to make cookies. When I was just about to leave, she called me and had me drive a biscuit cutter over to the Tarbet house so they could more easily cut out the cookie dough. Then I continued straight on to Fools Play.

It was Fools Play Hideous Robot. The audience practically gave me a standing ovation when I came out with my new hair. It was a really, really fun show, in which Mike turned out to be the hideous robot. We killed him with a combination of bees, papercuts, baseballs, and Socker Bopper Sword & Shield.

Afterwards we all went out to Rib Eye as usual. I sat with Leia & Kedar, and also Zoe Weith (who was at the show without Jason... she was also at the wedding without Jason, but both times he had a legitimate excuse). Zoe left after ordering and picked Jason up from Harlequin, and so he hung out with us as well. I learned that Leia used to show animals at the fairs. Chickens and Pigs. She was some sorta junior champion. I had no idea! That's pretty cool.

I was getting really tired really quickly, so immediately after I ate I said my goodbyes to everybody (including Brandy, who is flying back to New York as I type this) and left. Everybody complimented me on my new hairstyle. I think Mike and Taisha probably had the most trouble with it, but that's just because they were SO used to my long hair. Taisha had a good comment in that now I looked "Geek-hot," like Giles in Buffy, or that handler guy in Dark Angel. Ed said I looked like a bonafide grownup. Cupcake face expressed disappointment in not being able to braid it anymore, but said it looked really good. So overall, a rousing success.
