Anyway, in the morning I went out and did, um, research for my Halloween costume. It should be pretty cool, although I'm having some trouble with the blueprints for the interior framework. I might have to get Jay involved in the process. I've already sequestered my mom to help with the sewing part. Yikes! Speaking of sewing, in the afternoon I went to JoAnne's and bought a whole bunch of fabric for the costume.
I'm pretty durned excited about it.
After I picked Carrie up from work she decided she wanted to make chicken tacos for dinner. Sounded good to me! She walked down to the Neighborhood Market only to discover that they had no ground chicken. So instead she decided to make a meal from her childhood: Seafood Nachos. There is apparently a chain of mexican restaurants (I forget what it's called, and I'm not sure that it ever made it west of the rockies) Carrie went to frequently as a child, and she decided to try to re-create her favorite meal from that place.
I went and picked up Lawrence and brought him back, and the two of us played some Mario Kart: Double Dash
while we waited for the nachos. The nachos ended up being really, really good. We ate them while drinking wine and watching The Rundown
. Good times. Then we had some more wine and more Mario Kart. Then it was time for some more wine and Lawrence & Carrie sang some karaoke (see, the two of them can actually sing, so it's good that I didn't also get invovled). Laura and her roommate Caitlin came over (and brought cookies) just after 10:00 and we all watched part two of the season finalé of Project Runway. Christine didn't join us like she did last week because she'd just gotten back into town after being down in California for a few days, so she was plenny tired.
Laura & Caitlin took Lawrence back to his apartment. It was fun having peoples over! I like it, and now that I'm getting better about keeping abreast of the messes in the house, it's easier to do with more frequency. Good for me!
