Unexpected Hangouts

Yesterday (Sunday) was a day of unexpected hangouts. First off, we slept in until 10:00, when Linnea called to say she was going to Trader Joes and asked if we wanted to come. Sure! So she picked us up, which caused some problems because Baby Eva absolutely did not want us in the car with her (especially not me). Carrie could kind of calm her by doing some peek-a-boo, but that baby was pretty durned upset by our presences in her car.

At Trader Joe's we ran into Alicia Lawver. Hadn't seen her since Ed's party several months ago, so that was coo'.

Lena came home with us while Linnea went home with the Baby Eva. For lunch we had some of the beef & vegetable soup that Carrie had made the night before, and watched A Charlie Brown Christmas at Lena's request (we don't have Great Pumpkin, which would have been much more appropriate).

On the way to Fools Play practice there were three accidents before I even got on the freeway. I was only 10-15 minutes late, though. Also at practice was Michael Tanner, back from Japan! He was plenny exhausted from flying and being awake for basically 24 hours, so he frequently dozed off during the course of practice.

After practice (which got out a half-hour early), I drove to the Outback Steakhouse where I met Carrie and her fambly for an impromptu dinner. None of them (except for Grandma K.) had seen my new hair before. I had a prime rib that was on the rare side of medium rare. Actually, it was basically just rare all the way through. Man, it was pretty tasty. Carrie had a really tasty "Cyclone Pasta."

After dinner there Carrie drove us back to the house where we cleaned while watching various TV. I watched a couple of episodes of Mythbusters and then a Discovery Atlas about Brazil (it had a secion about a capoeirista, Boa Gente) while doing dishes.

Then after running the dishwasher it was time for Batman and bed.
