I Come From the Land of the Ice and Snow

So the snow is still here, but it’s developed a new trick: the top layer of the snow has melted, fused, and then re-frozen, forming an incredibly thick crust of ice on top of the seven inches of snow.
In places this crust is up to a full inch thick

In a few spots it is actually thick enough to support my weight so that I am actually standing on TOP of the snow.

This is a new experience for me.
I brought an umbrella to work with me because all weather reports said it was gonna be horribly rainy. instead Tacoma looked like this basically all day.
So turns out there was actually a tornado that touched down in largely-uninhabited Enumclaw on Sunday. It knocked over some trees and fences and an old barn, and it “dropped a shed on top of a tractor.” Here’s a video that someone shot of it. It’s kinda hard to see because of contrast:
