Who are you!? What is this website!?
I'm glad you asked. My name is Christopher Grant Harris. I make all kinds of things, and the purpose of this website is to share them with, well, anybody who wants them. Mostly I create etched glassware and art prints, so that's what's on the site right now. I might sell other things here from time to time, too, though. Who knows?
Glass etching is the process of creating a frosted look on an otherwise smooth glass surface. In my case, I use etching cream applied to custom-cut stencils. I never re-use stencils, therefore each piece of glassware I etch is just a little bit different from any other one.
What will my etched glassware be like?
Etched
glassware is notoriously difficult to take pictures of, but
here is an example to the right.
If you look at any of my etching designs, when I actually etch them onto glassware the black areas of the designs are what come out frosted-looking; the white areas are left untouched. My designs are generally about two square inches (or about 75% that size if etched onto a martini glass). I etch the design on only one side of the glass. In other words, your etched glassware will be awesome.
How should I wash my etched glassware?
All glassware is dishwasher safe. However, as with all fine glassware, hand washing is recommended, especially for martini glasses.
I certainly do. If you have anything that you want to be etched onto some glassware, go to my Custom Orders page and tell me all about it. There may be an additional design fee based on the complexity of the design you want. Contact me and we'll discuss how to get your vision onto glass!
It takes an average of two business days to process and create your order, and then I'll ship it by USPS Parcel Post (for glassware) or USPS 1st Class Mail (for art prints). So however long those take to get to you (about 3-8 days for parcel post or 2 days for 1st class mail).
What do you mean by "Art Print"
An Art Print is an illustration that I create either entirely in the computer, or a combination of digital photography and computer manipulation. It is then professionally printed onto high-quality archival photo paper.
