Materials
- Canvas Board:
- Sometimes also called "canvas panel," this is a piece
of high-quality canvas that has been adhered directly to a piece of
art board, making it much thinner than a usual stretched canvas (canvas
boards are only approximately ¼" thick). Canvas boards
are much more resistant to tears and warping than stretched canvases,
and generally lighter than comparably-sized stretched canvases (due
to stretched canvas frames being made of solid wood).
Canvas board also has the advantage of being thin enough to be able to frame with a regular photo frame (for example, an 8" x 10" canvas board can fit easily in a frame meant for an 8" x 10" photo, as long as you remove the glass from the frame).
